Once She Came Like a Flash novel Chapter 73

**TITLE: Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 73**

“Ouch! That hurts!”

Renee felt a jarring impact as her head collided with the unforgiving floor, a sharp pain radiating through her skull. The world around her spun, and for a moment, she was lost in a haze, stars dancing before her eyes. Instinctively, she raised her hand to shield herself, her body sensing the imminent danger as she attempted to rise.

But reality, as it often does, proved to be merciless.

A looming figure approached her, and before she could fully comprehend the situation, he seized her by the throat, his grip tightening like a vice. His knee pressed painfully into her abdomen, forcing the air from her lungs. With a swift motion, he yanked the necktie from her collar, stuffing it into her mouth without hesitation.

Gasping for breath, Renee instinctively opened her mouth, the tie slipping in easily, choking her cries for help.

“Let go of me! Mmph!” she protested, her voice muffled and barely a whisper. She fought against him with every ounce of strength she possessed, but her struggles only served to highlight her vulnerability. The sounds she managed to produce were unintelligible, swallowed by the oppressive silence of the room.

The man seemed to revel in her helplessness, prepared for every eventuality. Earlier, he had draped a pristine suit over his arm, but beneath it lay a length of rough rope, a sinister tool of his intent.

There was an undeniable physical disparity between them; he was a man, and she was a woman, and he bound her limbs with an ease that left her feeling utterly powerless, stripped of her autonomy.

As he finished his grim task, beads of sweat glistened on his forehead, and he tugged at his collar, letting out a long, weary sigh. “Damn, it’s hot as hell,” he muttered, a twisted satisfaction evident in his voice.

With a cruel grin, he leaned over her, lifting Renee effortlessly and tossing her onto the bed. He removed his suit jacket and glasses, revealing a face that radiated sleaze and malice.

“Tsk, tsk! Renee Whitley, the most beautiful woman in Harborview City. We’ve crossed paths before, but I never imagined I’d get the chance to share this moment with you,” he sneered, pinching her cheek with a revolting smirk.

“Sweetheart, you’re not feeling so good now, are you? Come on, let me take real good care of you. Hehehe.”

Renee lay there, her body thrumming with panic as she fought against the ropes that bound her. The sudden assault had left her heart racing, a cold wave of fear washing over her.

‘Damn it!’ she thought bitterly, realizing how gravely she had underestimated Kayla’s wickedness. The depths of Kayla’s cruelty were unfathomable, and Renee could hardly believe that she would stoop so low as to use this media-covered event to orchestrate her downfall.

“Mmph! No…!” she shook her head vigorously, desperation clawing at her insides.

But as moments passed, the remnants of her rational thought began to fade, consumed by the drug coursing through her veins, dulling her senses and clouding her mind.

Meanwhile, in the stadium behind the welfare center, the Spencers had erected a temporary stage, bustling with activity. They had invited media representatives and various business leaders, and soon, the seats began to fill, the atmosphere buzzing with anticipation.

As the ceremony commenced, Julian, the young heir of the Spencer family, took to the stage, his presence commanding attention. He delivered a speech with practiced poise, followed closely by Adam, who stepped forward to share his own words, the crowd hanging on their every syllable.

However, just as Adam was midway through his address, a sudden uproar erupted nearby.
