Once She Came Like a Flash novel Chapter 80

**Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 80**

Renee’s world shattered before her very eyes.

“Mom! Are you really going to abandon me like this, too?” Her voice trembled, and tears cascaded down her cheeks, each drop a testament to her despair. “I only brought people in to help cook for the kids! Someone else purchased the ingredients a week ago. Even if something went wrong, how can you blame me for that?”

As she clung to Adam, her last glimmer of hope, Kayla felt an unexpected thrill of satisfaction surge within her. The sight of Renee, so frightened and desperate, was almost intoxicating.

Stepping forward with a flourish, Kayla raised her voice, letting it ring out with dramatic flair. “So, are you suggesting that the children suffered from food poisoning because the ingredients you bought earlier went bad?”

She scoffed, the sound sharp and cutting. “Renee, if you didn’t want to volunteer, you shouldn’t have made such a grand display of it. You were just looking for your moment in the spotlight, trying to impress the press—and now, the children are the ones suffering!”

“She’s disgusting!” someone shouted from the crowd.

“Shameless! All for a fleeting moment of fame,” another voice chimed in, the disdain palpable.

“She exploited vulnerable children for her own publicity! How low can you sink?”

“She deserves to rot in hell!”

“Mr. Graham must have been blind to ever fall for someone like her.”

The cacophony of voices swelled around her, each comment more vicious than the last.

Renee shook her head vigorously, sobbing harder, her heart pounding in her chest. “No, it’s not like that… I didn’t use those kids. I swear!” She gripped Adam’s arm tighter, desperation etched across her face. “Honey, please, you have to say something…”

Adam stood there, paralyzed. The words of the crowd echoed in his ears like a relentless storm. Just moments ago, he had instructed his team to investigate the poisoning, and now, news of the incident was spreading like wildfire on social media, creating a tempest of outrage.

Irene wasted no time in seizing the moment. “Renee, you demanded a billion dollars from my son for the divorce, and we’ve already transferred the money. Now that this disaster has unfolded, why should my son come to your aid?”

Adam’s mind raced back to that moment—the vivid image of his mother clutching the contract tightly, her fingers white with tension. The terms had been laid out clearly, and while he didn’t grasp every nuance, he understood that he was ensnared with no means of escape.
