**TITLE: Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 85**
Despite the embarrassment that hung in the air like a thick fog, there was a flicker of joy in the fact that Adam and Kayla had finally found their way to each other. It was a union they had both longed for, a dream that had seemed distant for far too long.
“You disgusting old hag! I called you shameless, and you’re really proving me right!” Alison’s voice cut through the tension, her hands firmly planted on her hips as she glared at Kayla. “They haven’t even finalized the divorce yet! That means they’re still legally bound! Adam cheating on her is still cheating, you know! Do you really not understand the law? What are you, illiterate?”
With a swift pivot, Alison turned her ire toward Kayla. “And you! He’s a married man, and you had the audacity to pursue him! What is wrong with you? Do someone else’s leftovers taste better to you?”
But Alison wasn’t finished.
“Renee told me that someone drugged her and dragged her to the lounge on the third floor of Building 3. Just when that creep was about to force himself on her, people started searching for her. And somehow, someone just happened to pinpoint her exact location? What a coincidence! Or maybe it’s not a coincidence at all. Perhaps someone tipped off the press intentionally, hoping to broadcast her humiliation to the entire country!”
The room fell into a heavy silence, only to be shattered by murmurs that began to ripple through the crowd.
“Yeah, I heard that too.”
“It’s chilling to think someone orchestrated all of this.”
“Thank goodness Ms. Whitley managed to escape in time. If she hadn’t, everyone would’ve witnessed that horror live. That’s terrifying!”
“The person behind this is truly wicked!”
The reporters and onlookers were visibly shaken by the implications of what could have happened.
If the incident had been streamed live, no amount of online damage control would have salvaged the situation. The entire country would have witnessed Renee’s most vulnerable moment, a thought that sent shivers down spines.
Alison’s eyes glimmered with rage as she thought of her friend’s plight. In a sudden burst of emotion, she seized Kayla by the collar. “Tell me, was it you? Did you set her up?!”
