**TITLE: Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 93**
“Dad, the true homewrecker is the one who lacks love in a marriage. That certainly isn’t me!” Kayla’s voice trembled with defiance, her words echoing through the tense air like a desperate plea for understanding.
Jonathan’s expression was a mix of disbelief and outrage. He had always assumed that Kayla would recognize the gravity of her actions, but she seemed to be lost in her own world. Just as Jonathan had predicted, Kayla’s perception of right and wrong was distorted by her emotions. She felt cornered and vulnerable, and in that moment, she was merely confessing to faults out of fear rather than genuine remorse.
Yes, she had made a grave mistake by tampering with the food, an act that could have dire consequences. But loving Adam? That was a truth she clung to fiercely.
“I love Adam, and he’s on the verge of divorcing Renee. I couldn’t care less about what anyone else thinks. He’s the only man I will ever marry!” Kayla’s sobs broke the silence, her face a canvas of tears and snot, streaked with the rawness of her emotions.
“Kayla, please!” Lydia’s voice was a mixture of frustration and despair. She felt utterly powerless in the face of her daughter’s turmoil. “Can you not say such things out loud? Just try to calm down for a moment.”
Julian, standing slightly apart from the chaos, held his phone tightly in his hand, his silence heavy with contemplation. He had been aware of the connection between Kayla and Adam from the very beginning, but he had never intended to intervene. In the back of his mind, he believed that if Adam truly went through with the divorce, it would open the door for him to pursue Kayla without any obstacles. He was determined to win her heart, refusing to accept defeat.
“You ungrateful girl! Are you trying to drive me to my grave?” Jonathan’s voice boomed with anger as he raised his hand, poised to strike. But seeing Lydia protectively hovering over Kayla, he hesitated, his hand trembling with rage.
“Spoiling her like this is no different from ruining her life! Sooner or later, you will regret this!” His temples throbbed with the intensity of his fury. “Take her to the hospital tomorrow. She’s getting rid of that baby.”
“No!” Kayla panicked, her hands instinctively clutching her stomach as if to shield the life within her. “This is my child with Adam. I will have this baby, no matter what!”
Jonathan’s glare could have pierced through steel as he shouted, “You dare defy me?!”
