Once She Came Like a Flash novel Chapter 94

**Faith Didn’t Survive Time – by Aadi Sharma**
**Chapter 94**

“Adam and Renee aren’t divorced yet. What do you expect me to do?” Jonathan’s voice was sharp, slicing through the tension in the room like a knife.

With a sudden burst of frustration, he flung his hands into the air, his emotions boiling over. In one swift motion, he swept a glass off the table, the sound of shattering glass echoing loudly, a stark representation of his internal turmoil.

His eyes narrowed as he fixed Kayla with a fierce glare. “You’ve already ruined our family’s reputation!” he accused, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air.

Fast forward three days, and the hospital’s sterile walls finally released Renee back into the world. Alison, ever the supportive friend, navigated the car through the familiar streets of Platinum Heights, her heart light with relief. Upon reaching their destination, she assisted Renee, her care evident as she helped her ascend the stairs, each step a small victory.

“Does your wound hurt a lot?” Alison inquired gently, her brow furrowed with concern as she settled Renee onto the plush sofa.

Renee chuckled softly, brushing away Alison’s worried hand with a playful flick. “I’m not made of glass, you know. My leg’s mostly healed. As long as I don’t put too much weight on it, I feel perfectly fine.”

“Impressive,” Alison remarked, a grin spreading across her face as she gave Renee an enthusiastic thumbs-up. “If I were in your shoes, I’d probably be wailing in agony by now.”

Renee shook her head, a smile dancing on her lips. “I’m truly okay. You should head back to work; they must be missing you.” With a sudden burst of energy, she stood up and twirled around, her laughter filling the room. “See? I told you, it’s not a serious injury.”

“Alright, get some rest. I’ll head back to the office,” Alison said, her voice laced with a mix of reluctance and duty. “Call me if you need anything, okay?”

After spending several days by Renee’s side in the sterile confines of the hospital, Alison was eager to return to the chaos of her work life, where deadlines loomed like dark clouds.

“Go on, don’t worry about me. Bye! I’m not even going to walk you out,” Renee teased, her tone light, trying to mask the underlying gratitude she felt.

“Alright, enough with the jokes. Just rest up,” Alison replied, glancing back over her shoulder every few steps as she made her way down to the parking lot, her mind already racing with the tasks awaiting her.

Once alone, Renee sank into the comfort of the sofa, her phone in hand as she scrolled through X, the digital world buzzing with activity. She lost herself in the trending topics, each one a fleeting distraction from her reality.
