Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 124

“Mr. Hamilton, you don’t mind, do you?” Xenia, dressed head to toe in designer labels and exuding the aura of old money, glanced cautiously at Marico as she asked.

Despite her polite inquiry, she didn’t wait for an answer—her heels were already clicking toward the empty seat beside him.

Yvonne watched the scene unfold, her eyes wide and unblinking.

In that moment, a hard edge flashed across Marico’s strikingly handsome face. Authority radiated from him, even in silence.

He parted his lips and spoke, crisp and to the point: “I mind.”

The reaction was immediate.

Those nearby—especially the hopeless romantics who shipped the pair—gasped audibly.

Yvonne was among them.

With his cold, forbidding features, Marico could intimidate anyone with a single look. Yet Xenia, ever persistent, just kept coming back for more.

No matter how many times she lost, she refused to give up.

Yvonne saw Xenia’s posture stiffen, as if she might shatter on the spot. Marico’s two-word rejection had crushed every ounce of her pride and dignity.

But Xenia’s resilience surprised even Yvonne.

She managed a gentle smile and replied, “Alright. I know you mind the crowd. To avoid any misunderstandings, I’ll just sit with Cornelia.”

Without missing a beat, Xenia picked up her lunch tray and took the seat beside Cornelia, directly across from Marico.

Marico’s brow furrowed even tighter. His gaze was sharp, almost severe, as he glanced at Xenia before turning away.

Cornelia, who always followed Xenia’s lead, jumped in to ease the tension.

Yvonne listened in, keeping her head down, quietly marveling at her husband’s knack for shutting down the calculating heiress.

Turns out, chasing after a wealthy bachelor wasn’t as glamorous as it seemed.

Just then, Anna approached, lunch tray in hand, oblivious to the tension she was walking into.

She wasted no time stirring the pot. “What a coincidence, Yvonne. Hiding that knockoff wedding ring of yours now that you’re eating with Ms. White and Mr. Hamilton? Afraid someone might notice?”

She said it loudly enough for Xenia to hear.

Anna smirked, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Makes sense, though. Wouldn’t want to put on a show in front of Ms. White and make people think you and Mr. Hamilton are together. That’d be awkward, huh?”

Yvonne froze, cheeks flushing. In the next instant, she could feel Xenia’s gaze on her—cold and sharp as a knife, as if it could freeze her in place.
