Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 142

“You wouldn’t dare!” John’s arrogance hadn’t faded—he still clung to the delusion that these insurance salesmen wouldn’t touch him.

But his bravado vanished when a stone-faced man forced his mouth open and, without hesitation, yanked out his front tooth with a pair of pliers.

Pain so intense it blurred his vision brought tears streaming down his cheeks. Another man clamped a hand around his throat, squeezing so tightly John couldn’t even scream.

It happened so fast that John didn’t even have time to react.

When the shock finally hit him, his mouth was full of blood, and waves of agony radiated through his skull.

Terrified, John stared wide-eyed at Marico’s cold, merciless expression. For the first time, dread gripped his very bones.

This man was a devil.

“I’ve heard that when a man is at his most excited, he can be castrated without feeling a thing. You two should give it a try.”

Cradling Yvonne protectively against his chest, Marico shot the brothers a parting look—a warning so chilling that their bravado instantly crumbled.

Yvonne shuddered at his words, tightening her grip on Marico’s shirt. Just the thought was enough to make her blood run cold.

“I want to go home,” she whispered, clutching his shirt like a lifeline.

“Alright, we’ll go home now.” Marico gave a subtle nod to his bodyguard, signaling to clean up the mess thoroughly.

William confiscated the brothers’ phones and went ahead to open the door.

Yvonne refused to look at John or Jason again; her tears soaked into Marico’s expensive shirt as she pressed her face against him, her sobs growing quieter but no less desperate.

“Please, don’t! We’re begging you, let us go!”

The brothers’ pleas echoed behind them, but Yvonne didn’t want to hear a single word. After what they’d put her through, she almost hoped they’d feel the same fear and helplessness.

All she wanted now was to escape—never to set foot in this place again.

In the elevator, Yvonne clung to Marico, motionless. Only his scent, his arms around her, made her feel remotely safe.

“You brought so many people—won’t that risk exposing who you are?” she mumbled into his chest.

“Don’t worry. Aside from the elevator, I had the power cut in the whole building. No one could see a thing.” Marico carried her to the car without ever letting her go, settling her on his lap so she could stay curled up against him.

Yvonne peeked outside. The entire area was shrouded in darkness, not a single light to be seen.

Even the Zade family’s windows upstairs were dark.

The blackness was almost suffocating; Yvonne’s body trembled, and she quickly buried her face again in Marico’s embrace.

Right now, she needed him more than ever. It felt as if he was the only thing keeping her world from falling apart.

After a while, her voice broke through with a quiet sob: “How did you know I was in trouble?”

“Your message for help came straight to my phone. I checked your location and got here as fast as I could.” Marico’s hand rested gently on her waist, the other soothing her back in slow, comforting circles.

But Yvonne wouldn’t learn about any of this until much later.

Back home, surrounded by safety at last, Yvonne’s nerves finally began to unwind.

“I heard someone paid them to hurt me.” She sat on the bed, head bowed, her voice small and hesitant.

She looked alright on the surface, but the trauma was written in every movement—especially when Marico tried to help her out of her clothes so she could soak in a bath.

Yvonne immediately recoiled, clutching her clothes to her chest. Her tear-swollen eyes glanced at Marico, and realizing she might have hurt him, she whispered, “I’m sorry…”

Marico cupped her cheek, his voice so gentle it seemed to wash over her: “You don’t have to apologize. I should’ve protected you better.”

Yvonne froze, staring up at him in confusion. The apology caught in her throat—how could he be comforting her, when she was the one who’d brought him so much trouble?

Yet here he was, apologizing to her.

Marico’s dark eyes softened as he looked at her, as if he’d just found something precious he’d thought lost.

“A moment ago, I wanted nothing more than to take care of those bastards myself. But I was afraid I’d scare you,” he said quietly, his voice filled with pain and tenderness.

The words hit Yvonne right in the heart.

“Marico, I think… I really do love you.” Her lips trembled, the confession breaking free along with another wave of tears.
