Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 149

“Huh? Oh.” Yvonne’s delicate face flashed with confusion, then she nodded obediently.

“What are you still crouching there for? Can’t it eat on its own?” Marico’s cold voice was laced with obvious disdain.

“Oh.” Yvonne pouted, slowly getting to her feet.

Seeing her stand up, Coco, the little pup, stopped eating as well. Lifting its tiny head, it let out a soft whimper and gave Yvonne a pitiful, pleading look.

Yvonne mirrored its pout, her brow furrowing as she tried to comfort Coco with her eyes.

The two of them—one big, one small—looked like they’d both been terribly wronged.

It made Marico feel like he was some kind of heartless villain.

“Go wash up. You’re going to have lunch with Grandma.”

“Okay.” As Yvonne was about to leave, she bent down to reassure Coco, “Be good, eat your food~”

Hearing her gentle tone, Marico looked at her, expressionless. “I’ve never seen anyone feed their puppy at six in the morning. Keep spoiling it, why don’t you.”

People living worse than a dog—he was about to lose his mind!

“I’m just afraid Coco won’t settle in here yet. If she’s hungry, she’ll eat, and when she’s full, she’ll play.” Yvonne stroked the puppy’s head, reluctant to let go.

“I’m going to shower and disinfect—then I’ll make you breakfast.”

“How considerate,” Marico muttered with a trace of resentment.

“Play with her for a bit, I’ll go get changed.” Yvonne, always quick on the uptake, hurried upstairs to shower and change.

After all, with Marico’s extreme neat-freak tendencies—and his indifference toward dogs—there was no telling if he’d toss her out with the puppy.

As soon as Yvonne left, Marico’s dark eyes narrowed at the little white furball.

Coco glanced up at him, then dashed off to the backyard.

“Only brave when you’ve got someone to back you up,” Marico muttered, seeing right through Coco’s act.

Still, he felt a little better. At least tomorrow, he wouldn’t wake up before dawn just to watch his wife feed the dog instead of warming his side of the bed.

“Good.” The elevator doors opened, and Marico left with the doctor to review the results.

Yvonne took the elevator up. The nurses’ station was empty; they were probably busy accompanying Grandma Hamilton for her tests.

She walked down the hall to the patient’s suite.

Just as she entered, footsteps echoed behind her.

Yvonne turned to see a young woman approaching—elegant and striking, dressed in an impeccably tailored dress. She radiated quiet confidence—not staff, that much was clear.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Jessica Moore spotted Yvonne and immediately frowned.

“I…” Yvonne instinctively lifted the lunch box in her hand.

“You’re delivering food? Just leave it and go. Mrs. Hamilton doesn’t like strangers bothering her.” Jessica’s voice was icy as she looked at Yvonne—her face fresh and untouched by makeup, serene and gentle. She didn’t bother hiding her intent to send her away.

Yvonne sensed the hostility, though she had no idea why.
