Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 153

“You’re such a jerk!” Yvonne finally blurted out after holding it in for ages.

“Oh, please. Like you’re a saint—spying on your own husband’s gossip, just how virtuous are you?” Marico shot back, voice smooth as silk.

It was obvious he was getting her back for teasing him earlier about the rumor mill.

“Oh, come on. Must be nice, having girls fawn over you wherever you go. Everyone’s favorite, right?” Yvonne wrinkled her nose, completely unconcerned that she was stomping into Marico’s danger zone.

“You really trust me that much?”

“Absolutely. If you ever found someone better, you wouldn’t even need to tell me—I’d just walk out on my own two feet.” Yvonne sounded perfectly self-assured, and even chucked softly when she finished.

Marico’s usually unbothered expression hardened in an instant, his smile vanishing as his voice grew dangerous. “Try running, and I’ll break your legs.”

“I’m done here, not talking to you anymore.” Yvonne picked up the fruit plate she’d just washed and carried it straight back to the coffee table in the hospital room.

She didn’t spare Marico a glance, even though his eyes had suddenly gone cold and serious.

Just a few minutes ago, she’d been happily humming while washing the fruit, but when she returned, her face was flushed bright red.

Jessica saw her come back and acted like nothing had happened. “Mrs. Hamilton, you’re so thoughtful—doing all these little things yourself. No wonder Mr. Hamilton is so well taken care of.”

Yvonne managed a polite smile at the unexpected compliment. “You flatter me.”

She couldn’t help but wonder if Jessica was implying she was more of a maid than a wife with that “little things” remark.

“Dr. Moore, you must be new around here. I don’t think I’ve seen you before?”

Jessica nodded gracefully. “Yes, Mr. Hamilton invited me just a few days ago. Boris was covering for me while I was away.” She was all gentle elegance, like a character from an old English manor—every word and gesture perfectly poised, radiating an almost noble, untouchable aura.

She ignored him, pulled out her phone, and chose a cute photo of Coco the dog to update her profile picture.

Marico watched her from the side, eyes lowered.

“Change it. I’m sick of seeing that mutt every time we chat,” he grumbled, voice low and a little petulant.

“I like it, and that’s what matters,” Yvonne said, admiring Coco’s adorable face on her screen, clearly pleased with herself.

Meanwhile, out in the corridor, Jessica immediately pulled out her own phone and started searching for any news about Marico’s wife.

But no matter how deep she dug, all the photos of her were blurry, and there wasn’t a single mention of a wedding or even a scandal.

Jessica couldn’t help but speculate—if he’d gone to such lengths to hide his marriage, maybe this whole thing was just a sham to keep the family happy.
