Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 155

Marico wasn’t content just teasing her—he reached out and cupped her cheeks, kneading and releasing, over and over.

How was this any different from the way she used to squish Coco’s face?

“If you keep that up, I’ll bite you, I swear.” Yvonne huffed, annoyed. This man was impossible—always pushing her buttons and getting under her skin.

His hand was large enough to nearly reshape her face completely.

While the two of them bickered and fooled around, Mrs. Hamilton stirred on the hospital bed, watching them with an indulgent smile, but not interrupting.

She simply leaned back, her expression bright with that particular warmth only grandmothers possess.

“Grandma, you’re awake?” Marico noticed right away and, finally letting Yvonne go, dropped his hand.

Freed at last, Yvonne turned to the bed with a sheepish grin. “Good morning, Grandma. Are you feeling any better?”

“Oh, much better,” Mrs. Hamilton replied cheerfully. “Seeing you two so affectionate does me more good than any miracle cure. Marico, you know, you look quite handsome when you smile. You should do it more often—so much better than that glum face you used to wear all the time.”

Affectionate? Yvonne nearly choked. She’d been two seconds away from biting him out of sheer frustration—how did that count as affectionate?

She blinked, cheeks burning, and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, unsure how to respond. In the end, she could only offer a bashful smile.

Still, she had to admit: Marico really was handsome when he smiled.

“I asked Edith to set the table. Why don’t we head to the dining room for lunch?” Marico changed the subject smoothly, glancing at Yvonne.

“Alright. Grandma, let me help you into your wheelchair.”

“No need, dear. I’d rather walk a bit. Sitting all day is uncomfortable.” Mrs. Hamilton insisted, determined to stretch her legs.

The last time Yvonne had visited, Mrs. Hamilton had moved about spryly; now, though, her steps were slow and unsteady, and she needed someone to help her across the room.

After lunch, Yvonne and Marico walked with Mrs. Hamilton out to the garden to enjoy the afternoon sun.

He was actually amused!

Did he think having a baby was her responsibility alone?

Seeing that Marico had no intention of helping her out—in fact, he seemed quite happy to wait for her answer—Yvonne had no choice but to look embarrassed and duck her head. “There’s no rush,” she mumbled.

But Jessica didn’t let up. “Marriage and children just come naturally, you know. Why don’t we exchange numbers? If you have any questions about getting ready for a baby, you can ask me anytime. And I can help you get your body in the best possible shape to have a healthy little one.”

So that’s what this was about. All this small talk, just to get her number.

To Yvonne, it felt like a total breach of boundaries, bringing up something so personal just to find an excuse to stay in touch.

If she agreed, Jessica would probably use it as an opportunity to fish for information. That would make it even harder to keep their secret marriage under wraps.

But if she refused, she’d risk Mrs. Hamilton thinking she didn’t want children at all—and that would just make Grandma worry.

Watching Jessica’s poised, gentle smile, Yvonne realized for the first time that sometimes, even a friendly smile could feel downright unsettling.
