There were people still walking past outside, yet this man was being so shameless!
Yvonne’s cheeks turned bright red, and she nearly lost her breath before Marico finally let her go.
He pressed his thumb to the corner of her lips, wiping away the lingering thread of saliva. “After all this time, and you still don’t know how to kiss? Silly girl.”
His rough fingertip brushed her soft lips, and Yvonne gasped for air, breathless.
Her small, delicate face was flushed all over, her starry eyes glazed with a misty sheen.
The sight made Marico’s throat tighten. He quickly buckled Yvonne’s seatbelt, then floored the gas pedal, speeding for home.
Upstairs on the second floor, Jessica happened to be on the rooftop, making a call. By chance, she caught a clear view of the two of them locked in a heated kiss inside the car.
She couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like if she were the one Marico was kissing.
A sudden rush of heat swept through her body...
Jessica watched the car drive off until it disappeared from view.
She tore her gaze away and dialed Boris. “I think Grandma Hamilton’s recovering well. Once she’s ready to come home, I could move in and look after her full-time. What do you think?”
...
Yvonne rolled down the car window for the entire drive, hoping the rush of night air would clear away the lingering tension between them.
She watched the sky darken outside, grateful to finally cool down.
She’d hoped that after half an hour in the car, Marico would give her a break.
But as soon as they pulled up to the house and the car stopped, Marico unbuckled his seatbelt, then reached over and undid hers too.
Yvonne was just thinking how gentlemanly and considerate he was—when, in the next second, he flattened her seat and she found herself lying all the way back.
“Hey!” Yvonne struggled to sit up, but Marico moved quickly, sliding out from the driver’s side and pressing over her.
She was petite, and with only her in the plush seat of the Rolls-Royce, there was plenty of space. But with Marico’s tall, lean body closing in, she couldn’t move an inch.
“So, you finished your period days ago and just lied to me, didn’t you?” Marico’s voice suddenly shifted, no longer soft but full of accusation.
Yvonne stiffened, as if facing a formidable enemy.
He was testing her!
She’d been careless!
“No, it’s just—you’re heavy. I can’t breathe.” Yvonne scrambled to cover, panic written all over her face.
“Today, I’ll let you have the top,” Marico said coolly, opening the car door and stepping out.
Wha—what?! Yvonne was at a complete loss for words.
This man had so many tricks up his sleeve, just waiting for her to fall into his trap.
“Hurry up and get out—unless you’d rather try it in the car. I can even open up the starlight roof for you,” Marico added, his voice dark and teasing.
