Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 158

Just a moment ago, in front of his grandmother, she’d called him “darling” with a soft, syrupy voice.

But behind closed doors, she reverted to formality—“Mr. Hamilton.”

Marico’s jawline tightened, the muscles standing out beneath his skin. His dark, deep-set eyes narrowed at Yvonne, his face a blank slate, though the way he clenched his teeth made his anger obvious.

“Why are you looking at me like you’re about to bite my head off? We agreed to get married, that’s all. No one said anything about having kids,” Yvonne said.

It wasn’t that she disliked children. Quite the opposite, actually—she was fond of them. But their marriage was complicated, lacking any real foundation of feelings. She worried a child brought into this would never know what a warm family felt like.

Marico let out a cold snort. “With acting skills like yours, maybe I should start a company and cast you as the lead. Who knows—by the end of the year, you might bring home an award for Best Actress.”

Yvonne watched him yank his seatbelt into place, his voice as cold as steel and dripping with sarcasm.

She couldn’t help but laugh at his sudden pettiness.

When had this cool, aloof man started acting so melodramatic? It was like he’d dipped his words in arsenic.

“I’m not worried you wouldn’t care for a child. With your resources, you’d be more than capable. But you’re always so busy—could you really be the kind of father a child needs? Could you set the right example? Kids don’t grow up well just because they’re born. Honestly, I’m just not ready for all that.”

She laid it all out, hoping he’d understand.

And Marico did. She could see it in his eyes.

“So, if I could be the kind of father you’re talking about, would you change your mind?” he asked, his voice low and serious.

Yvonne blinked, momentarily stunned by his unexpected willingness to compromise. She never thought Marico—the immovable force—would bend for her.

She was about to turn back when a large hand suddenly cupped her chin, forcing her to face him.

“What are you doing?” she protested as he leaned in, his grip firm but not painful.

“I’m annoyed. Let me kiss you and get it out of my system,” Marico said, tilting her face up.

Without warning, he pressed his mouth to hers, catching her slightly parted lips in a hungry, breath-stealing kiss.

Yvonne froze for a split second—then his tongue swept past her lips, demanding, insistent. Her eyes widened in shock; Marico’s gaze locked with hers, dark and unyielding.

He drew her tongue into his mouth, holding her captive, kissing her so fiercely she let out a muffled whimper and tried to push him away.

But he didn’t budge. Instead, he pinned her gently to the seat, kissing her like he meant to claim every last piece of her.
