Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 43

The moment the call connected, Owen snatched Yvonne’s phone and abruptly hung up. “Yvonne, you’ve had way too much to drink. Let me help you get some rest,” he said, his eyes glinting with something unsettling.

He grabbed Yvonne by the arm, and Tracy quickly moved to help, lifting Yvonne from her seat. “You really shouldn’t drink. Good thing Mr. Reed’s here—Mr. Reed, would you mind taking care of her?” Tracy shot him a knowing look, brushing her hands off on her dress.

Yvonne’s body felt limp, her retort stuck somewhere between her throat and her chest, tangled up with a rising anger—anger at being ignored, at being treated like an object. But her limbs refused to cooperate, and a pounding dizziness blurred her vision.

Desperate, she kept glancing down the hallway, hoping Grace would show up to rescue her. But no one came. Owen and Tracy half-dragged, half-carried her to the elevator, ignoring her feeble resistance.

That was when the horror truly sank in. A wave of cold dread washed over her, leaving her numb and terrified. For one disorienting moment, fear swallowed her whole.

Cornered and desperate, she realized she had only herself to rely on.

She doubled over and vomited onto the floor.

Tracy recoiled in disgust, quickly letting go of Yvonne and shoving her unceremoniously into the elevator. “Mr. Reed, she’s all yours,” Tracy said, wiping her hands with a grimace.

Owen, still riding high on anticipation, scowled at the mess. He steadied Yvonne inside the elevator and barked, “Stand still. Don’t you dare throw up again.”

Yvonne was so sick, she thought she might cough up bile.

As soon as the elevator doors slid open, Owen yanked her toward a room he’d clearly prepared in advance. “Sweetheart, you don’t look so good. Let me show you how much I care—promise you’ll feel better afterward.”

“Get off me! If you lay a finger on me, Mr. Hamilton will make you regret it!” Yvonne’s mind cleared a little after throwing up; her body, though still weak, was slowly regaining strength.

She wrenched her arm free and shouted for help.

Owen responded by clamping a hand over her mouth, a twisted grin on his face. “Your precious Mr. Hamilton will thank you for making this sacrifice for the company.”

He swiped the key card, dragged her inside, and slammed the door.
