Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 44

The stench of her own vomit still lingered, but this man didn’t care—truly an animal.

Yvonne’s mind raced as she forced a sweet smile. “Mr. Reed, please, not so fast. You’re absolutely right. For someone like me, just a regular working girl, the only way to get ahead is to find a powerful man… someone just like you.”

She drew her legs in and slowly sat up on the bed, her cheeks flushed a delicate pink from the wine, making her look both innocent and beguiling. Her lazy, catlike movements only made her more alluring, the kind of sight that could make anyone’s heart soften.

Owen was utterly entranced, unable to tear his eyes away.

“I just threw up, so I’m going to take a quick shower,” Yvonne said softly, her voice dripping with charm. “Wait for me, will you?”

Owen’s anticipation was almost palpable. “I’ll join you. We can shower together,” he blurted, barely able to contain himself.

“No way,” Yvonne replied with a playful laugh, masking her disgust. “Where’s the fun in that? Just wait a little, Mr. Reed. I’ll be back to keep you company in a minute.”

Before Owen could react, she slipped into the en-suite bathroom and, with practiced ease, locked the door behind her.

Owen followed and rattled the handle, only to find it wouldn’t budge. “Babe, hurry up! I can’t wait much longer!”

“Okay,” she called sweetly through the door. Yvonne turned on the faucet, splashed cold water on her face, and rinsed out her mouth, steadying her nerves.

Staring at her reflection, she saw her cheeks still burning, her lips trembling ever so slightly with fear. She glanced around the spacious bathroom—nothing useful at hand except for a heavy hairdryer.

She picked it up, testing its weight. It felt substantial. This would do.

Her heart thundered in her chest as she tightened her grip on the hairdryer, adjusting her hold so the heaviest end was ready for action. She gave it a few experimental swings, getting a feel for it.

Taking a deep breath, Yvonne turned off the tap and unlocked the bathroom door.

Owen was down to nothing but his boxers, and the moment he heard the door open, he hurried over, grinning.

Tracy glanced at the caller ID, frowning. “Yvonne?”

“Tracy, I knocked Mr. Reed out. Can you come get me? Please?” Yvonne’s voice trembled with tears, sounding heartbreakingly helpless.

Tracy froze, then turned on her heel and jabbed the elevator button to head upstairs. “I’ll be right there. Just stay put,” she said, keeping her tone calm.

Tracy needed Yvonne in Owen’s bed if she wanted to marry into the Reed family and live the high life.

Yvonne hung up, the pitiful act slipping away as she picked the hairdryer up off the floor again.

Let Tracy walk right into her trap.

She never hurt anyone who didn’t hurt her first. But if Tracy wanted to play dirty, she was more than ready to return the favor.
