Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 67

Yvonne was still sound asleep, but the little puppy in her arms, Coco, woke instantly and barked twice at Marico.

“Coco.” Yvonne, still groggy, patted the little dog nestled against her.

Coco grew more agitated, yapping furiously at Marico.

“Quiet!” Marico’s voice was sharp and commanding, his expression cold and forbidding as he stared at the noisy puppy.

Startled, Coco ducked her head and burrowed deeper into Yvonne’s arms, whimpering softly as if deeply wronged.

That sharp command jolted Yvonne fully awake. She blinked, eyes bleary with sleep, and saw Marico standing a few steps away.

“You’re up,” she mumbled, her voice thick and nasal—maybe she’d caught a bit of a chill.

“Did you sleep down here last night?”

“Yeah. She seemed anxious and kept whining. I didn’t want her to wake you, so I came down to keep her company. I must’ve dozed off.” Yvonne’s cheeks were pale, but her sheepish smile was warm and sweet.

Marico didn’t respond. His face was expressionless, but something unspoken flickered in the depths of his dark eyes.

Yvonne blinked away the last remnants of sleep and hugged the puppy a little tighter, almost instinctively.

“All this trouble over a dog,” Marico said, his tone clipped and disapproving. He’d never been fond of pets and couldn’t begin to understand why Yvonne would spend the entire night on the couch just to keep a puppy calm.

Yvonne gave an awkward, apologetic smile, sensing his annoyance and running out of things to say.

“But she really is pitiful,” Yvonne said quietly, stroking Coco’s tiny back. “She’s only a month old and already lost her mom.”

“I’ll have William find a dog trainer. Let them take her for a few days.” Marico’s face remained stony, but at least he wasn’t making things more difficult for Yvonne.
