Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 82

Nearly every sales associate in the boutique greeted the young woman who had just walked in with a polite smile.

She was the one who had just stepped out of that white Rolls Royce outside.

Yvonne glanced over her shoulder, feeling the sting of contrast. When she’d come in earlier, no one had paid her any attention—she’d even had to approach the staff herself. Now, this woman in the white dress was being treated like visiting royalty.

“Ms. White, welcome,” the store manager said, coming out personally to greet her.

Yvonne never felt at home in these temples of luxury and status. She just wanted her sales associate to wrap up the watch she’d chosen so she could pay and leave.

Suddenly, a sharp voice from behind cut through the air. “Miss, if you can’t afford anything, don’t block the way.”

Yvonne turned to see Ms. White, looking down her nose at her with an air of effortless arrogance.

It was the kind of haughtiness that seemed woven into her very being, as if Yvonne’s mere presence was an insult.

Yvonne took a moment to study her. Ms. White was decked out head to toe in designer labels, her posture graceful, her expression cool and imperious. There was something vaguely familiar about her.

Yvonne stepped aside. The manager beamed at Ms. White. “Ms. White, if you’ll wait just a moment, I’ll bring out the watch for you.”

Not wanting to linger in this atmosphere, Yvonne walked over to a newer sales associate—someone who seemed less snobbish. “Could you please wrap up this one for me? I’ll go pay.”

She pointed at the watch she’d chosen: a black, business-style automatic.

All Yvonne wanted was to finish the purchase and get out of here as soon as possible. This whole scene was making her uncomfortable.

Ms. White let out a derisive laugh. “That watch costs at least three times more than your little beat-up car. Are you sure you can afford it?”

The scorn in her voice was impossible to ignore.

Yvonne nodded. “Yes, that’s the one.”

But Ms. White wouldn’t let it go.

“Well, look at that, she’s actually paying up,” she sneered. “Drives a junker, but splurges on a watch for her sugar baby boyfriend. No wonder you’re wearing a mask—maybe you make your money in ways you don’t want people to see.”

Her insinuation was clear—she was accusing Yvonne of making her living in less-than-respectable ways.

“I don’t see a wedding ring. I suppose you’re not married? Spending that much on your boyfriend—looks a little desperate, don’t you think?” Ms. White mocked.

Yvonne calmly brushed her hair behind her ear, showing off her ringed hand. Even with her sunglasses on, there was a gentle, composed air about her.

“And honestly, I think that watch is pretty ugly. But hey, if you like it, that’s all that matters,” Yvonne replied, her clear eyes sparkling with a hint of icy amusement.
