Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 97

The moment she heard those words, Yvonne’s mind flashed back to that troublemaker, Kent.

Marico hadn’t bothered to keep anything from him—could they really be close friends too?

If so, that was seriously embarrassing.

Just as she and Nydia finally sat down to catch their breath, muffled sobbing drifted in from the hallway, mingled with the comforting voices of several girls.

From what they could make out, it was all, “Ms. White, don’t be upset,” and “Sweet Xenia, it’s going to be okay.”

Yvonne and Nydia exchanged a knowing glance.

They slowed their movements, tiptoed to the door, and carefully pulled it open just a crack to peek outside.

Xenia, swathed in a soft shawl, was surrounded by a small crowd of glamorous heiresses, all consoling her.

“Xenia, the fact that Mr. Hamilton said that to you means he’s not over you yet. If he didn’t care, he wouldn’t even bother talking. Guys always have complicated feelings about their exes,” murmured Miranda, one of Xenia’s closest friends, her tone gentle and soothing.

“Exactly! The fact that Mr. Hamilton showed up at all means he still thinks highly of you, Ms. White,” Linda chimed in, eager to comfort her.

“Xenia, if Mr. Hamilton didn’t have feelings for you, he wouldn’t still be wearing the watch you gave him, and he certainly wouldn’t match outfits with you. Everyone’s saying they’ve never seen him dress like this before—if that’s not love, what is?” Cornelia Collins—Yves’s younger sister—hugged Xenia tightly, dabbing away her tears.

Xenia was already a mess, her face streaked with ruined makeup as she sobbed uncontrollably.

Listening to the chorus of sympathy outside, Yvonne couldn’t help but wonder how much of it was genuine and how much was for show.

The pink shirt was something she’d bought for him on a whim; she never expected him to go from refusing it outright to actually wearing it. As for the watch, that was definitely a gift from Xenia, and she’d seen him put it on himself.

Did that mean he still had feelings for Xenia? Or was she just another player caught up in their drama?

In the center of the party, Marico sat in a plush booth, swirling his whiskey in silence, his expression icy and distant.

Back at the booth, Marico set down his drink, suddenly stood up, and strode toward the quiet hallway.

Hogan and Kent exchanged uneasy looks and quickly followed.

Xenia and her entourage, who had been keeping a close eye on the VIP booth, watched with curiosity as the three most striking men in the room moved together toward the back.

Meanwhile, after sending her message, Yvonne realized she’d drunk way too much water earlier and needed the bathroom. She slipped out of the cleaning closet—only to stop short as she nearly collided with Marico and his two friends.

She froze, startled like a rabbit caught in headlights, then bolted back into her room, slamming the door behind her.

Of course—just her luck!

Chest pounding, Yvonne leaned against the door, her heart racing so fast it felt like it might leap out of her chest.

She hadn’t even caught her breath when the door handle turned, and Marico’s commanding voice called from the other side, “Open the door.”
