Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 439

The very next day after Lucian "poked the bear," he faced the consequences.

Without so much as a warning, his own father, Lambert, packed him off to his grandparents, Hugh and Jolene, declaring that he and his wife were "too busy" and that the boy could stay as long as needed.

Jolene, holding the little one in her arms, was utterly baffled.

She exchanged a silent glance with her husband before speaking. "If I remember correctly… aren’t Ariana and Lambert currently living at the Stone family estate?"

Hugh nodded.

Jolene fell silent. She had no idea what to say.

Had the couple still been living in their old villa, she might have understood their excuse of being "busy." But now that they were residing in the main family mansion, both she and Hugh knew exactly how "busy" their son and daughter-in-law truly were.

So…

Clearly, this was just Lambert's way of making excuses—deliberately pushing little Lucian away.

Once the realization struck, Jolene’s heart ached for her grandson. Cradling him protectively, she muttered in disapproval, "That boy Lambert—he’s a father now, yet he’s still so irresponsible."

Not that she minded keeping little Lucian around longer.

Hugh shared her mild displeasure, though it melted away the moment he laid eyes on his grandson.

With a resigned sigh, he reasoned, "Well, it’s his first time being a father. It’s natural he hasn’t outgrown his old temperament yet."

Jolene wasn’t buying it. She shot him a dry look. "He’s already a father of three, for heaven’s sake. If that brat keeps acting this way, it won’t end well. You should talk to him when you get the chance. He can’t just toss his child aside whenever he pleases."

As much as she adored having her grandson around, she refused to condone her son’s bullying behavior.

Hugh naturally couldn't afford to offend Jolene.

With a resigned shake of his head, he forced a smile and said, "Alright, got it."

...

In the end, Lucian still didn’t return home. Lambert had made up his mind—he wanted nothing to do with his unruly son. As for the twins, if they hadn’t been so young, he might have bundled them up and sent them away without a second thought.

Only now did Lambert realize that being a father wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

And so, about a month passed.

Ariana had fully recovered and was ready to return to work. Lambert was more than happy to let her take over the management of Lamari Group again while he refocused on Stone Corporation.

He had already begun purging unnecessary elements from Stone Corporation before—

But then Ariana’s pregnancy had interrupted his plans.

With her unable to oversee Lamari, he’d been forced to juggle both companies, leaving his original goal unfulfilled. Now that Ariana was back, he could finally devote his full attention to Stone Corporation.

One thing was certain—if he was going to inherit the Stone family’s legacy,

Then Stone Corporation would be cleansed of all useless factions and incompetent individuals.

No exceptions.

No matter who they were.

But why? Everything had been fine just moments ago.

Lambert turned his head slowly, his cool gaze locking onto his bewildered wife. Then, without breaking eye contact, he spoke in a measured tone.

"Ariana."

Ariana let out a puzzled, "Hmm?"

Lambert enunciated each word deliberately, "Are those three little rascals all you can think about right now?"

Ariana blinked in confusion. "...What?" She couldn't quite grasp his meaning.

With a cold snort, Lambert merely curled his lips without another word, restarting the engine instead. This time, Ariana was absolutely certain—he was genuinely angry.

Her mind went completely blank.

Nearly three minutes passed as the car rolled into the Stone family estate, and they were about to step out when sudden realization dawned on her. Her eyes widened in disbelief before she murmured, "Mr. CEO... don't tell me you're jealous of your own sons."

Lambert remained silent, his expression icy, feigning ignorance.

Ariana burst into laughter. "You're actually jealous—of your own kids! Lambert, tell me, isn't that just childish?"

Unexpectedly, Lambert shot her a sidelong glance and replied coolly, "Shouldn't I be? Tell me, how long has it been since you last paid any attention to me? Had I known this would happen, I wouldn't have created three little rivals for myself. Don't you agree?" As he spoke, he leaned in closer, his eyes flickering with a mix of regret and resignation.

Ariana's cheeks flushed abruptly at his sudden move.

Flustered, she pushed him away with a frown, her face burning as she glared at him, silently reminding him of their surroundings. They were already at the Stone family estate—if anyone saw them in such an intimate pose, who knew what they might think! How could she ever face people after that?
