Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 460

In the end, the poor little ones—barely half a week old—were unceremoniously kicked out by their own father to fend for themselves.

The sight of the two tiny creatures, pitiful and helpless, even tugged at the heartstrings of the Stone family’s nanny.

But for Lambert, it was just fine.

At the very least, he had finally managed to get what he considered a decent night’s sleep—something rare for him.

The next day, however, Ariana’s expression was so dark it could have summoned a thunderstorm. The servants didn’t dare approach her, let alone speak.

The Stone Corporation was thriving under Lambert’s ruthless restructuring. He had systematically purged the ranks, both overtly and covertly, leaving the old guard in a state of perpetual unease. The Stone family patriarch, however, seemed deaf to their complaints, as if he didn’t understand a word of their grievances.

It was clear he was tacitly approving Lambert’s actions.

Or perhaps even supporting them.

And so, despite their resentment, those who had been ousted had no choice but to step down.

The remaining senior employees, especially those aligned with the first and second branches of the family, trembled in fear. Every day was a nerve-wracking ordeal, waiting for the axe to fall—for that dreaded summons to the office that would end in termination.

Yet, there was no denying the results. Lambert’s iron-fisted approach had sent the company’s performance skyrocketing—something unimaginable in the past.

Back then, complacency had reigned. But now? The moment Lambert set his sights on someone, their fate was sealed. Desperate to keep their jobs, even those who had once sworn allegiance to the first and second branches were scrambling to prove their worth, hoping the new CEO might spare them, if only for their competence.

At that very moment, Damon sat across from Lambert in the Stone Corporation’s office, deep in negotiations over a project.

Both teams were on high alert, poised to counter any move the other side made.

No one wanted to lose out.

Everyone wanted the bigger slice of the pie.

Yet at this very moment, the usually stern CEO Castro appeared surprisingly composed, his expression unreadable.

After glancing at Lambert, he said directly, "The Castro Group will only concede five percent—this is my bottom line."

Lambert raised an eyebrow slightly.

At that moment, the team behind Damon was also taken aback, not understanding what their CEO was trying to do.

Previously, their team’s proposal had been a maximum concession of three percent, with five percent being the absolute bottom line.

However, none of them believed they could realistically negotiate five percent, so they had already steeled themselves for a tough battle. Yet their boss had just gone ahead and offered the bottom line outright? This threw the whole team into confusion.

Lambert studied Damon, who met his gaze with cool detachment.

Both men knew the outcome was almost certainly five percent—Lambert wasn’t one to settle for less. Still, if Damon had played his cards right, he might have found an opening to push it down to four or even three. For a seasoned negotiator like him, it wouldn’t have been impossible.

But Damon had skipped the battle entirely, offering his bottom line outright. Lambert didn’t need to guess why.

Yet he didn’t acknowledge the gesture as a favor. Instead, the corner of his thin lips curled faintly.

What was their CEO implying? Inviting Chairman Stone's precious heir as a ring bearer? Since when were they on such intimate terms that they could borrow each other's children for weddings?

With personal affairs settled, the meeting concluded. The two tycoons exchanged the customary corporate pleasantries before parting ways. The dazed Castro Corporation delegation left Stone Enterprises in collective shock, their minds still reeling long after exiting the building.

This was the first time they had prepared dozens of contingency plans, only for none of them to be needed.

It seemed they’d have to step up their game after returning. Could it be that President Castro thought they were incompetent and decided to handle things personally? The thought made everyone’s hearts sink.

Damon didn’t stay long at Stone Corporation either.

After thoroughly discussing all the project details with Lambert, he stood up gracefully, though with an air of indifference, and left.

But instead of heading back to his own company, he went straight home.

He knew that Fanny’s parents had recently given her a strict order: she had to spend time at the Castro residence every other day. And as it happened, today was one of those days. So Damon decided to return home first. Of course, it wasn’t because he wanted to see Fanny.

It was simply to ensure his wife wasn’t bullied.

He saw things clearly.

Beverly was a woman of cunning depth, while Fanny was straightforward to the point of naivety—no match for her. And lately, Beverly had been visiting the Castro household frequently. If anything happened to Fanny, it would reflect poorly on him as her fiancé.

That was the only reason he needed to go back.

Yet the self-deceiving CEO remained oblivious to the faint warmth flickering in his eyes—a telltale sign that betrayed his true feelings.
