Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 625

It's all her fault—all because she was too soft-hearted.

Thinking about how Ariana had grown up safe and happy, with everything going smoothly for her, while her own daughter had suffered so much hardship, Georgia felt like she could strangle Kendra with her bare hands! She was utterly convinced that Kendra had done it on purpose—deliberately seeking out her daughter, adopting her, and then grinding her down like dirt.

Irene stared blankly at Georgia’s agitated state, a flicker of confusion passing through her eyes.

Honestly, Georgia’s words were way over the top.

If not for the fact that her expression seemed genuinely sincere, Irene might have suspected she was teaming up with Ariana to mess with her.

Adjusting her expression, Irene forced a weak, strained smile and said, "Auntie, I’m just glad you don’t blame me… I was afraid you’d misunderstand me like Ariana did. As long as there’s no misunderstanding, a little hardship on my part doesn’t matter."

Poor child…

Seeing her like this only made Georgia want to cry even more.

Irene continued, "Auntie, if you could just explain things to Ariana for me… I just hope she won’t misunderstand me." At this, she bit her lip slightly, as if embarrassed, then added, "The reason I came back this time is because my best friend Madelyn just had a baby. She’s my closest friend here, so I had to return. I know I promised Ariana I wouldn’t come back, and I broke that promise. But I’ll leave again soon—could you please tell Ariana so she doesn’t take it the wrong way?"

"Leave? What for? No matter how nice it is abroad, it’s still not home. Besides, Ariana had no right to interfere between you and Lambert in the first place—that was her mistake. How could she have driven you away from your own country? Sweetheart, don’t be afraid. I’m Ariana’s mother, and I’ll make sure she understands. Stay right here—she won’t dare force you out."

"Auntie…" Irene’s eyes welled up with tears.

Seeing her daughter, too afraid to even stay in her own homeland, silently enduring hardship just to avoid Ariana’s misunderstanding—Georgia’s heart ached unbearably.

Lowering her voice, she said, "The house is usually empty, and I get so lonely. Since you’re here… why don’t you come over for a while? Keep me company." Originally, Georgia had only wanted to see her daughter once, but now she couldn’t help craving more.

Meeting Georgia’s eager gaze, Irene thought for a moment, then nodded.

With a soft smile, she replied, "As long as you don’t mind having me, Auntie."

Georgia let out a soft sigh. "How could I ever look down on you?" Never in this lifetime, she added silently in her heart.

...

Several days later, at the Stone Family residence.

Madelyn eyed Irene with a peculiar expression, skepticism lacing her voice. "Are you sure this is what Ariana's mother said?"

Irene exhaled slowly before nodding.

Pursing her lips, Madelyn sighed. "I never imagined Ariana could be so vicious. Her own mother seems decent, though. Hearing this, I actually feel some sympathy for her. But did Ariana really go that far? Even framing the sister she grew up with? No wonder her mother's heartbroken. If I had a daughter like that, I'd probably disown her—spare others the trouble."

Irene gave a faint smile. "Enough with the bitterness. I only told you this so you'd stay cautious around Ariana. If she’d harm her own family, imagine what she’d do to you."

Madelyn scoffed. "Let her come. Do I look scared to you?"

Irene shook her head helplessly. "Don’t forget—you’re not alone anymore. You have a son now."

As for why Georgia, Ariana's mother, would choose to help her...

Irene could only chalk it up to sheer stupidity.

Judging by Georgia's demeanor, she was clearly someone who had been overly sheltered—either by her daughter or her husband. Women of her status and age were usually sharp as knives, seasoned players in the game of high society.

Just like Irene's own mother.

If it had been her mother, no matter how many flaws Irene had, she would never have exposed her weaknesses—not when the marriage alliance was about the interests of their families.

A mother like Ariana's is truly a rare breed. But this only proves that even the heavens are on Irene's side this time. If she doesn’t seize this golden opportunity, she’d be doing herself a great disservice.

At this thought, Irene’s smile widened, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

Still…

It wouldn’t hurt to have a backup plan.

Her gaze flickered as she glanced at the baby cradled in Madelyn’s arms.

Misinterpreting her stare, Madelyn chuckled. "Once you marry Lambert, you two can have as many children as you want. No need to envy my little one."

Irene’s cheeks flushed pink. "Don’t talk nonsense," she muttered, feigning shyness.
