“That idiot is looking at you again,” Ella said teasingly in her sea of consciousness.

“I know.” Aubrey sighed helplessly, then put down the reagent in her hand as John looked over again. She turned her head to him. “Maybe you should put all your energy into improving the potion. We don’t have much time.”
“Ah… okay.” John subconsciously avoided Aubrey’s gaze. His movements were flustered, and the potion in his hand accidentally slipped.
Aubrey quickly took two steps forward to catch the vial, frowning as she reprimanded him, “Focus. Wait until after the reagent is improved to discuss anything else. Right now, this matter doesn’t just concern me. It also concerns the alpha you admire most and the survival of Shadowmoon Pack. You can’t be distracted.”
“If you can’t do it, please leave. We don’t need people causing trouble here.”
Aubrey’s expression and tone were extremely serious, which stunned John. He even saw a shadow of Alpha Henry in her–authoritative and powerful.
He unconsciously lowered his head. “Okay, I understand.” While he felt respect, his heart couldn’t help but ache with regret. Even if Aubrey were a gamma, he would have accepted it. But she just had to be an omega. If he became mates with an omega, Alpha Henry would definitely be gossiped about and ridiculed by many werewolves…
On the other side, Alpha Henry rapidly issued several commands. Though he hadn’t slept in a long time, he didn’t look the least bit tired; he still appeared full of vigor. Just sitting there giving orders gave people an incomparable sense of security.
“Cracking the Kajit virus has reached the most critical moment. All of us must serve this purpose. This incident… I will make it Aubrey’s stepping stone to the top!”
“Yes, Alpha!”
A dozen beta werewolves before him knelt on one knee. “We are willing to go through fire and water for Ms. Mary!”
“Good–move out!”
Time passed, second by second. The external pressure on the Miguel family grew heavier by the moment. Several neighboring packs even gathered troops and stationed them at the borders of their territories.

Chapter 410 Stepping Stone
92
There were three hours left. At six in the morning, it would be exactly three days.
This was the time the Alpha King had declared. He had set the time for sunrise, a time for witnessing miracles.
The entire Shadowmoon Pack was shrouded in a sense of crisis.
Many werewolves hadn’t slept all night, just waiting for the result. But at this moment, a shocking piece of news suddenly arrived, shattering the peace of the final three hours!
“The patients who were out of danger after the antibody injection… some have suddenly fallen into comas, and some have suddenly died!”
The news spread like wildfire. Although the Alpha King immediately ordered a media blackout, the information still leaked, striking the patients‘ families like a bolt from the blue!
The main reason they had given Aubrey three days was the antibody’s success, which had shown them her capability and given them hope. But if this hope was false, if the so–called recovery was just a brief illusion, a scam, then why should they tolerate Aubrey continuing to live? She must pay with her life!
