But how could he not be worried? This was a matter of life and death… Xavier looked at Aubrey’s focused expression, wanting to say something, but ultimately held his tongue.
He had already made up his mind. If that mob charged in, he would risk his old bones to carry her and run. In short, no matter what, he would ensure the girl’s safety.
Having worked together to crack the virus for so long, he had long since come to see Aubrey as his own granddaughter. He knew better than anyone how wonderful Aubrey was!
Aubrey didn’t know what Xavier was thinking. She remained focused on the reagent.
After a moment, seeing the two solutions gradually merge without any rejection, Aubrey’s eyes crinkled, and she finally smiled.
“He said it himself. He’s here, and he told me not to worry. So what do I have to worry about?”
Xavier immediately fell silent. He knew very well that, from his understanding of Aubrey, this was the first time she had ever trusted someone so completely. So, has the Alpha finally seen the dawn after the long night?
He just hoped they could get through this crisis smoothly! With that thought, he quickly settled his mind and sped up his work.
Meanwhile, when Alpha Henry rushed back, he saw the Miguel family’s old residence surrounded by ten thousand werewolves!
Most of them were agitated. When he appeared, they began to shout uncontrollably.
“Liars! Hand over Aubrey! We’ll never believe your crap again! Hand her over!”
“If you don’t hand her over in ten minutes, we’ll set this place on fire!”
In the past, with the natural reverence betas and gammas held for an Alpha, they would never have dared to say such a thing, nor would they have dared to be so disrespectful to Alpha Henry. But now, they were riled up. The anger of being deceived, coupled with the suffering of their families, made them bold enough to do it.
Seeing this, Alpha Henry immediately released his powerful Alpha pressure, imposing control over the chaotic scene. Only then did he walk step by step to the front of the crowd.
He was surrounded by a group of beta–level soldiers who had come with him, all holding guns loaded with silver bullets. They were currently aiming their weapons at the rioters.

“Hand over Aubrey, or I’ll kill myself right here too! My son is dead, I don’t want to live anymore!”
More and more voices like this arose, but Alpha Henry stood at the front, his expression grim, as immovable as a mountain.
“Quiet!”
He once again released an even stronger Alpha pressure. It descended like an invisible giant hand, violently crushing the crowd into silence.
Following that, Alpha Henry slowly scanned the crowd. He saw the resentment and anger on their faces. But beneath this surface, what surged was a deeper sorrow and a bone–deep fear.
They were afraid: afraid of the virus spreading, afraid of death’s arrival, afraid of losing everything they loved.
