Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 102

Christian paused halfway through unbuckling his seatbelt and turned to look at Annie.

Sunlight streamed through the car window, casting a glow on his sharp features. There was a glimmer of soft amusement in his eyes.

He found it utterly endearing that she was carefully trying so hard to appear calm. She was always so considerate of others and forgot that she, too, deserved the very best.

"It's fine," he said.

His deep, calming voice seemed to soothe Annie's unease as he reached over and opened her car door.

Before she could protest, he took her hand and gently led her into the boutique.

The moment they stepped in, a manager in an impeccably tailored suit, Elise Davies, approached. She had a flawless professional smile.

"Mr. Parker, Ms. Steward, welcome."

She guided Annie deeper into the boutique and signaled to another shop assistant, who ushered Christian toward the nearby VIP lounge.

Annie was slightly confused as she watched him being led away. She thought that he seemed pretty familiar with the place, and even Elise knew him.

Just then, Elise's phone rang. She excused herself, briefly answered, then hung up.

"My apologies, Ms. Steward. Something urgent came up, and I'll have to attend to it."

Turning around, she waved over a young shop assistant, Lydia Baker, standing nearby. "Lydia, please come here and assist Ms. Steward."

Lydia nodded and walked over. After a few quick instructions, Elise briskly walked away in her heels.

As soon as Elise was gone, the professional smile on Lydia's face vanished. She scanned Annie up and down, and noting the plain, simple clothes she wore, a flash of disdain flickered in her eyes.

Was this the so-called heir of the Steward family? Rumors painted her as glamorous, yet she was dressed so plainly, with not a single recognizable brand in sight.
