Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 52

The thought made Annie feel guilty.

"Why are you still standing there in a daze?"

Christian's voice brought Annie back to her senses. After turning around and seeing her still standing in the same spot, he smiled helplessly and said, "Come here and eat."

Annie tightened her grip on her phone. Nevertheless, Christian had rescued her that day. However, because of her, he had misunderstood something terribly.

As if she had made up her mind, Annie walked up to him. She pulled the chair back but did not immediately take a seat.

Christian had just filled a bowl with soup. Just as he was about to hand it to her, he saw her looking at him solemnly and paused.

"I…"

Annie licked her lips and hesitated before explaining, "The reason I went to see Sean yesterday isn't what you think.

"It was because of my grandmother's prescription. Sean had previously prescribed her medication.

"I asked Dr. Lawson to take a look at it. He told me that the prescription was useless. It was just a list of supplements.

"Sean even said that he was the one who had contacted Dr. Lawson and asked him to perform my grandmother's surgery."

Annie had sputtered as if she were in a rush to prove something. She continued, "I know that Sean doesn't know William, so I invited him out to clarify these things with him."

Christian listened to her quietly. His expression had barely changed.

However, when William's name was mentioned, his eyes flickered imperceptibly. He finally understood.

Annie had met up with Sean not because she was still hung up on him, but because she wanted to expose his lies.
