Sean laughed when Annie mentioned that she was already married. He believed that she could make up any lie she wanted just to spite him.
They had barely broken off their engagement, so who could she possibly marry? And what kind of fool would dare take her?
Sean let out a cold, mocking laugh, and his eyes were filled with disdain.
"Stop playing these childish tricks, Annie. My patience has limits," he warned. He stopped wasting time on her and snapped at the nurse beside them, who was already trembling in fear. "What are you standing there for? Take her blood pressure!"
The nurse flinched hard at his roar.
Naturally, she recognized Annie as Sean's former fiancee. Rumor had it that they had an ugly breakup not long ago.
Now, he had dragged her back to the hospital by force. She didn't know what was happening this time.
The grudges of wealthy families were none of a nurse's business, but Sean was her superior. His orders couldn't be disobeyed.
Clutching the blood pressure monitor, she could only brace herself and walk toward Annie nervously. But Annie dodged to the side and quickly reached into her bag to grab her phone. "If any of you come any closer, I will call the police!" she threatened.
Before she finished speaking, her wrist was suddenly twisted. Sean grabbed her hand and wrenched it back hard.
Pain shot up Annie's arm. Her phone slipped from her grip, and he snatched it, smashing it brutally to the floor.
Just then, the ward door was flung open from the outside.
"I dare you to touch her." Christian stood at the doorway, wrapped in a terrifying aura of cold, murderous fury.
Sean, already losing all patience, turned around.
It was that pretty-boy again. It seemed that Christian just wouldn't stop hounding him. He couldn't believe a man who relied on his looks dared act so arrogantly before him.
Sean figured that Annie must have picked this nobody just to provoke him. A man like that wasn't worthy of carrying his shoes.
