Dennis Williams made his intentions crystal clear. He wasn't worried about the Adams Group holding a grudge against him. He wanted everyone to know this was a threat, plain and simple. The choice was theirs: pick Larry Adams to lead, or find someone else.
If they chose Larry, the Adams Group could keep working with NextGen Technologies and enjoy steady profits for years to come. If not, then NextGen would show no mercy. Old friendships wouldn't matter, and the company would be left to fend for itself.
Everyone in the business knew how fiercely Dennis had supported Larry over the years. The Adams Group wasn't just a playground for the Adams family. Its success was tied to every shareholder. These people weren't naive. After dedicating years of hard work to the company, they had their own priorities. It was only natural for them to weigh their options and avoid getting on NextGen's bad side.
Anyone with a sharp mind understood exactly what Dennis's warning meant.
Larry couldn't deny how much Dennis's support touched him. “Dennis, thank you. Really.”
He knew that without Dennis quietly working behind the scenes, he wouldn't have uncovered the truth so quickly or found justice for his mother. And he definitely wouldn't have gotten control of the Adams Group like he had.
Dennis let out a soft laugh. “You don’t have to thank me. Now that you’ve got the shares, get your head in the game. Go back to the Adams Group and show everyone what you can really do.”
Larry smiled, confidence back in his voice for the first time in ages. “I will.”
After taking two days to settle himself, Larry officially returned to the Adams Group and took over as head of the company. The news sent a ripple through Cabinda’s business circles.
Just recently, Joseph and Kimberly had been taken away by the police at Kimberly’s birthday party. No one could believe it. For days, everyone kept an eye on the Adams Group, waiting to see what would happen next. It was obvious a leadership change was coming, but nobody could figure out who would end up in charge.
