After dinner, Camila sank into the sofa, feeling lazy and content as she scrolled through travel guides for Kaston on her tablet. It didn’t take her long to map out a plan for tomorrow, her excitement building as she read about all the must-see spots.
“Kaston has some incredible architecture,” she said, glancing over at Dennis. “How about we check out a few of the famous buildings in the morning? Then for lunch, let’s try some of the local food. They say it’s amazing here. And in the afternoon… real French afternoon tea. I want to experience that at least once.” She paused, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “And tonight, how about a musical? I’ve always wanted to see one.”
Dennis sat close beside her, watching the way her face lit up as she talked. There was a warmth in his gaze, a gentle patience that felt like a promise. “Whatever you want,” he said softly. “Tomorrow, we’ll do it all together.”
Camila grinned, her excitement bubbling over. She felt almost like a kid, too thrilled about their plans to even think about sleep.
Dennis found himself smiling, too. He knew how much Camila had gone through, how she was always carrying so much responsibility, pushing herself so hard for everything she believed in. He’d never really known how to help her relax or let go. Seeing her like this, happy and carefree, was a rare and precious thing.
The estate was spacious and peaceful, with beautiful gardens, tennis courts, and a pool tucked away behind the house. When Dennis noticed that Camila still wasn’t tired, he suggested, “Let’s go for a swim. Maybe it’ll help you wind down.”
But as soon as she stepped out in her swimsuit, he realized he might have made a mistake. The suit fit her perfectly, hugging every curve. Under the soft glow of the moon, she moved through the water like a shimmering mermaid, her pale legs kicking beneath the surface, sending ripples across the pool and straight through his chest. He swallowed, suddenly feeling warm all over.
