Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1054

She thought the night was over. But when Camila Davis got back to her room, she realized things were just getting started.

“You’re totally taking advantage of me,” Camila said, her eyes rimmed with red. “I don’t even remember our past. Shouldn’t you be a little more considerate? What if… what if you’re just making everything up?”

Dennis pressed a soft kiss to her lips and smiled. “Your body doesn’t lie, Camila. You want to be close to me too, don’t you?”

She had no comeback for that. Her body was betraying her, reacting to him with every little touch. Whenever she got near him, it felt like her whole self woke up, craving his closeness instead of pushing him away. Still, there was no way she’d admit it out loud. She turned her face aside, trying not to look at him, but the bright red flush on her ears gave her away.

Dennis couldn’t help but look pleased. He tilted her chin up and kissed her gently, his voice dropping to a soothing murmur. “Camila, trust what you feel. This is how things have always been with us.”

He laced his fingers through hers, holding her hands tight, and just like that, they were caught up in another wave of passion. Camila let herself go, even though her body felt like it had reached its limit. She still didn’t push him away. In the back of her mind, she tried to reassure herself. They had plans the next day. Surely he wouldn’t want to keep her up for long.

She realized soon enough just how wrong she was. Dennis was relentless, like nothing could possibly satisfy him. No matter how many times she begged, or tried to reason with him, she couldn't slip out of his arms. By the time he finally let her go, she was completely wiped out. For a split second, as her mind drifted, a strange sort of déjà vu washed over her. The face in her memory was Dennis’s.
