Vivien made sure Camila felt included, and before long the two of them were chatting away like old friends.
“So, how did you and Dennis end up together?” Vivien asked, her eyes full of curiosity. “I used to hear Byron talk about him all the time. He always said Dennis was super cold and distant. Honestly, I thought he’d never settle down.”
Camila laughed softly, not really remembering all the details herself, so she kept it simple. “We met through work. A bunch of things just kind of happened after that, and here we are.”
As they talked, the subject shifted to Camila’s daughter.
“Wait, you have a daughter?” Vivien gasped, clearly surprised. “Is she as pretty as you? I bet she’s a little angel. Do you have any pictures? Can I see her?”
Vivien, being pregnant herself, was instantly excited to talk about kids.
Camila smiled and nodded. “Of course.” She loved showing off her little one. Scrolling through her phone, she found a few photos and handed it over.
The moment she saw the photo, Vivien’s face lit up. “Oh my gosh, she’s adorable! She looks just like you, like your tiny twin!”
Their voices caught Byron’s attention, and he wandered over to take a look. When he saw the picture, his eyes went wide. “You already have a daughter and you never told me? Seriously, Dennis? Some friend you are. Do I mean nothing to you?”
Dennis stayed calm. “Well, you know now. Just make sure you don’t forget her red envelope.”
