Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1103

Aaron ended the conversation without a hint of mercy, pressing the button on the remote in his hand. Inside the cage, a heavy panel slid down, sealing everything away.

Nine desperate men rushed forward, fighting for their lives.

Sandra Taylor, trapped inside, stumbled back in fear. The cage was so small that there was nowhere for her to run. It only took seconds before two of the men caught her, forcing her to the floor. Her clothes were ripped apart as she kicked and screamed, wild with panic.

“Get away from me! All of you, get away! Stay back! No—!”

It was useless. Faced with life or death, the men were even more aggressive than when Sandra had first ordered them around.

Suddenly, white smoke sprayed from the ceiling. Sandra caught the sharp, chemical scent and her face went pale. She knew this drug, the same one that old creep had used on her before. In her terror, she bit down on her lip until she tasted blood.

The smoke worked fast. Everyone in the cage started losing control. Even Sandra, still struggling a second ago, slowly stopped fighting. Fear faded from her face, replaced by a twisted kind of pleasure. Before anyone could even reach her, she started acting on instinct, her body betraying her as she reached for the nearest man.

What happened next was hidden from the outside world. No one could see or hear the chaos inside.

In the next room, Dennis had already lowered the glass divider, shielding Camila from the horror unfolding nearby the moment Aaron left.

“Can we go? Please?” Camila’s voice was muffled, her face buried in Dennis’s chest.

He felt her pain and didn’t hesitate. “Yeah. Let’s get out of here.”

They left the basement together. Camila’s face was pale as they got in the car. She leaned quietly against Dennis, trying her best to push away everything she’d just seen.

Aaron came back soon after, reporting quietly, “It’s done, Mr. Williams.”

Dennis glanced up, his voice calm but cold. “Just because she’s here doesn’t mean she’s the one behind all this. Don’t let her die so easily. When this is over, interrogate her. I want to know exactly who gave her the information and who’s backing her up.”

Aaron hesitated for a second, then nodded. It made sense. The Taylor family was bankrupt. After Jordan Smith dumped Sandra, she had nothing—no money, no connections. She’d even become some old pervert’s plaything, just to survive. With what she had now, she couldn’t possibly go after Ms. Davis, let alone hire killers through the underworld.

He shared his guess. “Maybe it’s someone from her past, back when she lived overseas? She was wild back then, and the Taylors still had money. She could’ve met all sorts of people during those years.”
