Larry didn’t argue with the plan. He just got ready to follow along. But before he could even take a single step, Sarah reached out and grabbed his arm.

She looked up at him, worry all over her face. “Hey… just do me a favor and play nice with Billy, okay? He won’t actually hurt you, but his temper is pretty awful. If he says anything harsh, just let it go. And if he starts blaming anyone, just blame it all on me. I’ll call for backup if I need to!”

She looked so serious that Larry almost laughed out loud.

He reached over and gently messed up her hair. “Alright, I get it. I’m not looking for a fight.”

Honestly, he wanted a proper talk with Billy, too.

Larry headed into the study. As soon as the door closed behind him, Sarah’s nerves finally got the best of her. She rushed to grab her phone and call for help.

She dialed quickly and, sounding absolutely desperate, begged, “Aurora, you have to save me! You’re literally my only hope right now!”

It took Aurora a second to process Sarah’s tone. “Wait… what happened? Are you okay?”

Sarah glanced at the closed study door, chewing her lip. “It’s a long story. I’ll explain when you get here. Please, can you just come over right now? I’m begging you. If you don’t, you might have to come collect my remains later…”

Aurora still had no clue what was going on, but Sarah sounded so dramatic that she couldn’t say no. “Alright, I’ll come over now.”
