The internet exploded after users double—triple—checked the news and realized it was all true. The comment section basically became a riot.
“Is there even a CEO out there who isn’t heartless? But this takes the cake—seriously, abusing elderly folks living alone? Doesn’t your conscience hurt even a little? You paralyze someone and don’t even offer compensation? Instead, you throw money around to hush it up? What kind of dumpster fire is this Taylor Group? How are they still in business?”
“Guys, anyone wanna guess which Taylor Group this is? You’ll never believe it—it’s the one run by that old Hollywood actor!”
“You mean the Harrisburg Taylors? The ones with all those ties to the Smith family, America’s so-called ‘First Family’?”
“Well, that makes sense. Rotten apples don’t fall far from the tree. No wonder the Taylor Group is so shady, and their daughter turns out to be a mistress—stealing pharmaceutical formulas and making dangerous meds… Honestly, the Taylors are a blight on society.”
“Can the authorities step in already? How much dirty money have they made? One whistleblower might be gossip, but this many scandals? Clearly something’s rotten here.”
“This is about as open-and-shut as it gets. Someone should just throw the whole Taylor Group in jail already…”
And on and on it went.
Just as the online chaos hit its peak, more media personalities started coming forward with fresh scoops.
“Bet you didn’t know—the Taylor Group’s infamous mistress is out! She stole formulas, swiped trade secrets, and just walked away scot-free. Gotta admit, girl’s got connections.”
“Oh, she’s got more than that. The CEO of the Smith Group? Her old flame. One phone call from him and she’s home free.”
“Insiders say the only reason she escaped charges is because the Smith Group’s army of lawyers swooped in. All the blame got dumped on some poor ‘spy.’ Rumor has it, the guy’s been crushing on the mistress for ages—willing to take the fall for her.”
“Disgusting. Let’s not even talk about the spy. But the president of the Smith Group—he could have any woman he wants, and he picks a thief? Is he out of his mind?”
“Seriously, what’s so special about this mistress anyway? Judging by her behavior, her character’s clearly lacking. Mr. Smith, what’s up with your taste?”
Nathan got straight to the point. “Early this morning, someone leaked all kinds of dirt about the Taylor Family—hard evidence, too. Turns out the Taylor Group’s been involved in criminal activity for years. Now the media frenzy is out of control, and the Smith Group’s getting dragged in. I’m on my way over. You need to get up and see this, pronto.”
Jordan was instantly wide awake, reaching for his tablet.
Nathan had already sent him a full summary, complete with links and screenshots.
Jordan scrolled through the mess, his expression growing darker with every headline.
And then, a memory surfaced: Camila Davis’s voice from their call last night, still echoing in his ears— “You’d better treasure this year.”
At the time, he hadn’t thought much of it. Now, it felt like a warning.
