Jordan Smith hesitated when he heard Sandra Taylor’s request.
He’d already been uneasy about letting her attend the AI Tech Summit.
But the Pharmaceutical Guild? That was a whole different ball game—a gathering of every big shot in the medical world. And with that recent formula theft scandal still fresh, he couldn’t help but worry. If Sandra went, there was a real chance she’d get ambushed again, and The Smith Group might end up in hot water once more.
After thinking it over, Jordan finally shook his head. “If that senior from the medical school really shows up, I’ll find a way to talk to him myself. Negotiations are more my thing anyway.”
Sandra’s face fell.
She could hear the gentle rejection in his words—how could she not?
But she just couldn’t stand sitting quietly on the sidelines.
Sure, the Taylor family name had lost its shine, but she was still Jordan Smith’s woman.
She was going to be Mrs. Smith someday.
There’d be a place for her in Harrisburg’s high society, and sooner or later, she’d have to make an appearance.
Lately, the gossip around their social circle hadn’t been kind to her, either.
She wanted everyone to see that even without the Taylor family backing her, she was still a cut above the rest!
With that thought, Sandra clung to Jordan’s sleeve, eyes wide and brimming with tears. “Jordan… do you think I’d embarrass you if I went? I promise, if I show up, it’s only to ask for help for your leg.
I know you’re great at negotiating, but this doctor from the med school—he’s something else. He’s unpredictable. The usual tricks might not work.
But I did a little homework. He really admires people with strong medical skills, and he’s got a soft spot for old-school remedies and rare herbs.
I know I messed up The Smith Group’s project before, but when it comes to spotting herbs and talking ancient medicine, I’m way better than you. If I can win him over, he’ll help you for sure.
So… please, just take me with you?
And if that’s still too much, I could even go in as a server. I wouldn’t mind.”
By the end, her voice was trembling, and she looked ready to break down.

Ever since Lillian started school, Camila Davis threw herself into her work at the research institute.
All the data she’d gathered with the mountain rescue team finally paid off, giving her team a running start on the new project.
Everyone on the team was relieved—and more than a little amazed.
“I’m suddenly so glad I chose to join Miracle,” one team member gushed. “Ms. Davis is incredible—not just fast, but she’s taught us so much!”
“For real! Her research skills are off the charts. I was stuck on a formula for weeks, and she just breezed through it like it was nothing.”
“No kidding. Even my old college professor is a fan of hers. He said he’d love to meet her someday.”
“I don’t care what happens—I'm sticking with her for life!”
