“Who else gets it—that feeling when you look up and see a sky full of shifting stars? Absolutely mind-blowing!”
“It’s like a silent fireworks show! Sure, it’s quiet, but the spectacle is just as stunning.”
“Seriously, are you guys trying to bankrupt the rest of us? Why tonight, of all nights, to pull this kind of stunt? I just proposed to my girlfriend, and now I’m totally outshined. She’s so annoyed she doesn’t even want to marry me anymore…”
“I mean, it’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but… what does it even mean???”
“Same! I’ll admit, this drone show is insanely impressive, but I don’t get it. There’s no message, no words. What’s the point?”
“Guys, hang tight. I snapped pics of the whole drone show. I’ll upload them later, and maybe we can crack the code together!”
“Is it just me, or do these drone patterns look kinda familiar?”
“Exactly! Those designs—they’re all Harrisburg landmarks! They’ve been lighting up the entire city with these tonight!”
“Yep, I’ve been watching it spin for almost three hours now!”
“Geez, how much did this cost? Is it all over the city?”
“From what I’ve seen online, people are posting photos from all over town. If you compare them, it’s clearly the same show!”
“No need to speculate—it’s totally the same person behind all of this. I’ve seen some of the patterns repeat already!”
“Come on, how are the rest of us guys supposed to compete with this?”
“As a woman, let me just say: if someone’s confessing or proposing like this, just say yes already!”
“Why do you all assume it’s a proposal? Couldn’t it be for a birthday?”
“Oh wow, now that you mention a birthday, someone does come to mind... but what are the odds, right?”
“Maybe it really is just a coincidence. Still, after tonight’s drama finally died down, I doubt they’d go so public again.”
“You never know. Those aren’t regular people’s problems. Can’t expect them to act like the rest of us.”
...
While the whole internet was buzzing about the birthday party, everyone was suddenly distracted by the epic drone show.
Camila Davis didn’t know any of this.
By the time she and Dennis finished their cake, it was already past midnight.
“Let’s call it a night,” Dennis said, glancing at his watch. “You’ve had a long day. Get some rest.”
He didn’t linger; he just drove her home and parked outside her apartment building.
