Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 484

"Count me in! I may not be a med student, but I’m strong—I can help carry supplies or do whatever needs to be done. I just want to help out!"

All over social media, the buzz was deafening.

Camila Davis had no idea. She hadn’t been online at all.

Right after the meeting ended, she was getting ready to head back to the research lab.

But before she could leave, Walter Wilson stopped her.

He said, "We just got word from the police. That journalist they picked up last night finally talked. Turns out, someone paid him off to stir up drama at the birthday party. The payment came from an anonymous email, so the cops need more time to track it down. As for The Smith Group—the troll farm—they’re definitely involved. And there’s someone else pulling strings behind the curtain..."

Camila frowned, trying to wrap her head around it. "Who would even bother with all this nonsense?"

Walter grinned. "Someone who can’t stand to see you doing well, obviously."

That made Camila narrow her eyes. Instantly, two names popped into her head: Jordan Smith and Sandra Taylor.

Other than them, she couldn’t think of anyone with a motive.

Still, Jordan Smith might be cold and self-centered, but he'd never stoop to something this shady.

That left just one suspect.

Sandra Taylor...

But without any actual proof, there wasn’t much they could do.

Camila turned to Walter. "If you get the chance, keep an eye on Sandra Taylor for me. I have a feeling she’s the one behind all this."

"Sure thing," Walter replied, a knowing smile on his face. "Looks like we’re on the same page."

Meanwhile, over at Sandra Taylor’s place, she’d already seen that the university’s medical school was trending again.

The comments section was blowing up with praise.

She scoffed. The internet sure loved putting these people on a pedestal. But just wait until the truth came out—how hard would they fall? Honestly, she thought, they hadn’t even reached a real height yet.

Sandra picked up her phone and made a call. "Buy some more bots," she instructed. "Push more posts about Eric Morris and the med school—make them look like saints. The more, the better!"

"On it..."

She hung up, and just then, the sound of little feet pattered down the hallway.

Her son, Daniel, burst into her room. "Mom, can we go to the amusement park today? Please?"
