Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 524

Camila Davis just couldn’t say no to little Lillian.

“Alright, fine. I’ll take you to see him,” she sighed.

Little Lillian had been pretty down lately—sometimes she’d just sit quietly, lost in her own world.

Camila worried about her, always keeping a close eye on her mood.

Maybe bringing her along to Cabinda would be good for her... and Dennis Williams could check in on her, too.

“Yes! Mommy, you’re the best! Lillian loves you so, so much!” the little one squealed, practically bouncing off the walls.

Seeing Lillian so happy, Camila’s own face softened, her heart melting a little.

She knelt down to her daughter’s level and said, “Since you’re coming with me to Cabinda, you have to promise me one thing, okay? Cabinda’s a new city for both of us. I don’t really know my way around, so you have to be extra good. Deal?”

Lillian had autism, and Camila rarely dared to take her far from home. Even though Lillian seemed just like any other kid these days, Dennis Williams hadn’t officially cleared her after phase two of her treatment. There was still a chance her symptoms could flare up.

Apart from trips to her grandparents’ place, Lillian had never really left Harrisburg. Camila worried she’d have trouble adjusting—strange places, new faces, maybe even a meltdown.

All those worries weighed heavy on Camila’s mind.

But Lillian nodded eagerly, taking her mom’s hand, “Don’t worry, Mommy! I’ll be really good. I won’t bother anyone, and I won’t wander off. You won’t lose me!”

With Lillian’s steady reassurances, Camila didn’t press further.

Knowing she’d soon see her dad, Lillian was in high spirits every day.
