Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 535

Camila Davis looked like she’d just seen a ghost.

Sandra Taylor was pregnant? Seriously?

As someone who’d helped treat Jordan Smith’s injured leg, Camila knew better than anyone what his physical situation was.

Sure, Jordan’s injury was to his leg, not anything that would mess with his ability to have kids, but the treatment he’d been on required a long course of medication. Some of those drugs, if taken for a while, could really mess up your chances of having children.

Not forever, of course—but if you wanted to try for a baby, you’d have to wait until the leg was healed and then give it a couple of years for his system to recover.

Honestly, the only reason Camila had gotten pregnant back then was because Jordan had stopped the meds for a while. Even then, the odds weren’t great. The fact she ended up with Lillian was partly just sheer luck.

That’s why Camila doted on her little Lillian so much.

But now, Sandra Taylor was pregnant too?

Wasn’t Jordan Smith still in the middle of his treatment?

Camila glanced at Sandra across the restaurant, her expression growing a little odd.

Sarah Brown, sitting beside her, caught the weird vibe and asked, “What’s that supposed to mean, Camila? Why’d you say, Sandra Taylor is actually pregnant?”

Camila didn’t want to get into it. She just shook her head and said, “It’s nothing… Other people’s business, let’s not talk about it.”

She was no longer part of the Smith family. Whatever happened with Jordan was none of her concern.

And as for whatever was happening with Sandra’s baby, well, that was even less her business.

Still, there’s nothing worse than hearing half of some juicy gossip and not getting the rest. It was driving her nuts.

Sarah was dying of curiosity—she could practically taste the secret Camila was holding back. But with Camila’s little one at the table, Sarah held her tongue, at least for now.

Anyway, it wasn’t like Sandra Taylor’s baby was going to show up tomorrow. Whatever drama was brewing, she’d find out eventually.

Were these people seriously hooking up in a restaurant in broad daylight?! And from the sound of it, the woman’s husband was out there somewhere too?

Could they be any more shameless?

Sarah couldn’t help but glance back at the door. It wasn’t even shut all the way—a sliver of light crept through the crack.

No wonder she could hear everything so clearly.

These people didn’t even bother to close the damn door.

Sarah cringed for them. She just wanted to mind her own business and get out of there—but as she glanced up, she caught sight of a man’s pant leg and the corner of a red dress swaying behind the door.

The noises inside turned even more suggestive. Sarah felt her skin crawl.

“Ugh,” she muttered under her breath, disgusted to her core. She hurried away, determined not to get involved in this mess.
