Especially when Daniel spoke, she caught a flash of something unsettling in his eyes—like he was up to no good.
Had he already done something to Lillian?
"Give Lillian back to me, now!"
Camila Davis was furious. She shoved aside the bodyguard blocking her way, determined to charge into the room.
But Jordan Smith wasn’t about to let her cause a scene. He immediately barked an order to the guards beside him, "Stop her!"
The guards stepped up, and one of them grabbed Camila without hesitation.
"Let me go!"
Camila fought wildly, shouting at Jordan, "Jordan Smith, bring Lillian out here right now!"
Walter Wilson, standing nearby, wasn’t going to just watch. As soon as the guard grabbed Camila, Walter was on him—he twisted the man’s arm hard, and there was a sickening pop as the guard cried out in pain.
Camila was free in an instant.
Aiden didn’t even wait for a cue—he went straight at the other two guards.
Everything happened so fast that Jordan’s face darkened with anger. "Walter Wilson, are you really going to go against the Smith family?"
Walter pulled Camila behind him, a cold smirk on his face. "So what if I am? Bullying a kid, really classy, Smith family. Just when I thought you couldn’t get any lower."
He looked Jordan dead in the eye. "You’re supposed to be a respectable man. If you can’t end things like an adult, at least let it go with some dignity. You’re about to start a new family—what gives you the right to demand Lillian’s approval? And now you’re using a child just to torment Camila? That’s pathetic."
Seeing Walter stand up for Camila made something twist inside Jordan—rage, jealousy, something ugly. He said icily, "Whatever I do is none of your business. I tried to be reasonable, but you wouldn’t listen. Now you’re asking for trouble."
Walter just laughed, taunting, "Bring it on."
No one knew who threw the first punch, but Camila suddenly found herself pulled behind Walter as the two men squared off.
The room erupted into chaos. Both Walter and Jordan were tough—neither was a stranger to a fight, and every punch landed with intent. But Jordan’s leg injury quickly put him at a disadvantage, and it became obvious he was losing ground.
Just as Walter was about to take him down, Mason Smith finally snapped, "What are you all standing around for? Get in there and help!"
"Yes, sir!"
The Smith family’s guards rushed in.
Jordan didn’t have to ask who sent them. His eyes went cold as he glared at Walter. "Are you trying to get yourself killed, Walter?"
Walter just grinned, cracking his knuckles. "With your bad knee? We’ll see who comes out on top."
He’d been itching to fight Jordan for ages, and now he looked every bit the charming rogue, exuding danger.
Camila grabbed his arm, desperate. "Stop! Don’t fight!"
She didn’t want Walter getting dragged into trouble because of her. If he really tore up the hotel, Jordan would never let him go.
She tugged him closer and whispered, "Walter, listen to me. Don’t do this. Lillian’s not in danger—they have too many people. Besides, Jordan said he’ll bring Lillian to the engagement party. We’ll get her then."
Walter frowned. "You’re worried I’ll get in trouble?"
Camila shook her head, lowering her voice. "No. I just have another plan."
Dennis hadn’t given her details, but if he said he could fix this, she believed him completely.
