Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 634

Camila Davis and Dennis Williams couldn’t help but feel a little anxious.

Camila leaned in, speaking softly to Dennis, “Do you think Lillian will make any friends?”

Dennis squeezed her hand reassuringly, giving her that calm smile. “Of course she will. You have to trust her.”

And, as if on cue, his words proved true.

Within minutes, a few curious kids wandered over to Lillian’s desk, their faces lit up with excitement at the sight of the new girl.

“Hey! Are you new here?” one of them asked.

“You're really pretty! I’m Scott. What’s your name?” another chimed in.

Lillian looked at the group crowding around her, and for a moment, it felt just like her old school. She answered shyly, “I’m Lillian.”

“Nice to meet you, Lillian! I’m Amy. We’re classmates now!” said a friendly girl grinning from ear to ear.

“Lillian, do you like pink foxes too? I have a backpack with the same print!” another girl said, pointing to her bag.

Kids make friends so easily. Sometimes all it takes is liking the same cartoon or having a matching lunchbox.

Lillian found herself smiling, more eager to chat than she’d expected.

Soon, more kids gathered around her, drawn by her sweet smile and big, curious eyes. Honestly, on her very first day, Lillian was the star of the class.

Even a couple of boys seemed to linger a little too close, looking for a chance to talk.

Dennis, watching from across the room, couldn’t help but furrow his brow.

He leaned over to Camila. “Have you ever talked to Lillian about… you know, boys and girls being different?”

Camila, still basking in the relief that Lillian was fitting in, blinked at him in surprise.

“Um, no, not yet…”

Dennis looked serious. “She’ll be four soon. We should say something. She ought to know to keep a bit of distance from the boys.”

Camila had to stifle a laugh, glancing at the cluster of kids around Lillian. She finally realized what Dennis was getting at.

She couldn’t help but giggle. Was he really already worried about their little girl being swept off her feet?

Looks like Mr. Williams was destined to be a doting father.

Still smiling, Camila nodded. “Alright, you’re right. We’ll talk to her.”

Dennis insisted, “I’ll do it myself.”

Camila tried not to laugh again but agreed, “Okay, whatever you say.”

They watched for nearly an hour, barely noticing the time slip by.
