Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 666

When they stepped outside, the whiskey was starting to hit Brown, and Camila Davis was fighting off a wave of sleepiness. Her eyes were red, and she could barely keep them open.

Dennis Williams was already waiting with the hair dryer, ready to help.

Camila wandered over and plopped down in front of him. As Dennis gently dried her hair, she leaned her head against his stomach and closed her eyes, dozing off almost instantly.

By the time her hair was dry, she was out cold.

Dennis looked down at her peaceful face, his gaze softening.

Unbelievable, he thought. All this noise, and she can still fall asleep? She must be exhausted.

He didn’t wake her. Instead, he carefully lifted her into his arms and carried her back to the villa bedroom. He tucked her in, dimmed the lights, and, before leaving, pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.

“Goodnight, Camila,” he whispered.

Camila slept soundly until morning.

After that night, their relationship seemed to leap forward—they were closer than ever.

Life didn’t slow down, though.

Work at the research center was overwhelming, and Camila’s plan to make a new batch of medication for old Mr. Williams kept getting pushed back.

Dennis tried to soothe her worries. “Don’t stress about it. Grandpa’s in no rush. I’ve been making sure he gets his exercise every day, and honestly, he’s looking better and better.”

The Williams Family Estate

Old Mr. Williams hadn’t been in the best mood lately.

Not that he could do much about it.

Today, another Pilates instructor showed up, and Mr. Williams looked as if he was being led to the gallows.

Mr. Williams’ eyes shot wide open. “What?! That’s highway robbery!”

The bodyguard shrugged. “So, do you want to work out now, or wait until this afternoon and go even longer? Your call.”

Mr. Williams fumed. He wanted to protest, but he didn’t dare.

Finally, he pushed himself up, grumbling, “Fine! I’ll just do it now! Who needs extra time anyway?”

He could barely keep up as it was—if he had to go any longer, he’d be a goner.

The bodyguard nodded and turned to the instructor. “Alright, please continue with Mr. Williams’ session.”

Mr. Williams just glared, swallowing his anger.

He’d have to put up with it for now!
