Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 723

Faced with everyone’s skepticism, the judges on stage seemed at a loss for what to do.

They honestly didn’t seem to know how to make the call.

Camila Davis, however, remained calm and composed, quietly waiting for the verdict.

Jarvis Peters, on the other hand, had complete faith in her. Not only did he have no doubts, but he even took the initiative to ask her for guidance. “Camila, could you tell us what makes your treatment so unique?”

His tone was eager, filled with genuine curiosity.

And more than that, there was unmistakable trust in his voice.

Camila, meeting Jarvis’s curious gaze, was generous with her knowledge.

She explained, “It’s all in the technique. Our medical academy has preserved several sets of specialized methods, passed down for generations. They take paths most would never dare, using treatments that seem risky—like working with pressure points others avoid.

It might look dangerous, but because we have an entire system where each method checks and balances the next, even the most treacherous points can be used to create incredible results.”

On stage, there was a human model and all the necessary equipment.

Camila stepped forward, picked up the silver needles herself, and gave a detailed demonstration of the technique.

After listening, Jarvis’s eyes lit up with excitement. “So that’s the secret! Camila’s method is entirely feasible! I’ve heard about your academy’s techniques, but seeing it in action is even more impressive than I imagined.”

Among the great medical families, each has its own legacy—some pass down formulas, others rare ingredients, still others unique procedures.

But the medical academy is known for its techniques with needles, a tradition Jarvis had always admired and longed to study.

The judges in the room were utterly astonished by Camila’s approach. In all their years, they’d never witnessed anything quite like this.

Once Jarvis had given his stamp of approval, it was easy for the judges to make their decision.

“The first round goes to Ms. Davis!” they announced.

From the audience, Aaron couldn’t help but sound a little smug. “Just moments ago they were so quick to doubt her. Now look who’s eating their words.”

Dennis Williams stayed quiet, but the pleased curve of his lips showed he was just as happy about Camila’s victory.

The competition continued, with the two contestants challenged by a series of stubborn illnesses.

Tuberculosis, Crohn’s, pneumonia, typhoid, chronic fatigue, persistent coughs, asthma—each round brought new, difficult cases.

Every time, Camila and Jarvis offered different solutions.

Sometimes one won, sometimes the other.

But as the contest wore on, it became clear that Camila was pulling ahead.

The reason was simple: her needlework techniques gave her a distinct edge.

They’d been refined and perfected over generations, each method built on the last.

Where Jarvis stuck to conventional, conservative treatments, Camila would cut through complexity and simplify, often with stunning results.

“Exactly. Compared to her, I feel like all my years of study were for nothing.”

Harper’s hands clenched involuntarily as these words of admiration filled her ears.

This was not the outcome she’d hoped for—not Camila basking in the spotlight.

Unable to hold back, Harper raised her voice. “All that just now was just theory! No one can say if these treatments would actually work in real life. Mannequins aren’t the same as real patients! So this result doesn’t prove anything!”

Her outburst found some support among other skeptics.

“She’s right. Those cases were all ancient illnesses—we have no way to verify any of it.”

“Yeah, it’s hard to say who really won this contest…”

But Camila took the doubts in stride, her expression unchanged.

For her, this match had always been about the challenge itself—and the chance to exchange knowledge with Jarvis, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

The Harris family’s approach to medicine had its merits, she knew. She suspected Jarvis felt the same.

But Jarvis went further. He admired the medical academy’s techniques tremendously.

Hearing the crowd’s doubts, he stepped forward to speak on Camila’s behalf.

“I appreciate everyone’s faith in me, but I lost this match—and I lost fair and square,” he declared, raising his voice so everyone could hear. “The needlework of the medical academy is renowned by every medical family still practicing today.”
