Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 724

All the treatments recorded in their family’s medical archives had already been thoroughly tested and proven effective.

Just like every other family here, there was no possibility of cheating.

The real reason for your doubts is simple: it’s hard to accept that someone could cure a patient in less time than you ever imagined possible.

But I believe many of the experienced doctors in the room, if they reflect carefully, will come to realize just how remarkable Camila’s methods are.

After all, being entrusted with the legacy of a medical school isn’t something anyone takes lightly.

Jarvis Peters’ words rang out clear and firm, and several of his colleagues began to reconsider, weighing the possibilities in their minds.

What most didn’t notice, however, was that some of the more senior doctors—those with decades of experience—had already snapped photos of the answers the moment Camila and her opponent revealed them. Now, they were poring over the notes with a kind of ravenous fascination, their eyes alight with the thrill of new discovery.

Jarvis Peters went on, “If anyone is still unconvinced, there are plenty of patients here today. Why not let Camila demonstrate her skill in person?”

He turned and looked at Camila Davis, asking, “Camila, I hope you don’t mind me volunteering you for this?”

His curiosity was almost palpable—he couldn’t hide how eager he was to witness Camila’s process with his own eyes. It was obvious to everyone, and Camila immediately saw through his intentions.

Still, she wasn’t about to embarrass him in front of the crowd. Besides, he’d already thrown down the gauntlet.

Camila gave a light laugh. “Not at all. Since my opponent lost, he’s at my disposal, and I’ve always been quite generous. So yes, I’ll agree to your request. For the next hour, I’ll offer free consultations to anyone who needs it.”

She turned to address the audience, her voice calm and measured. “Who would like to go first?”

Jarvis Peters’ public vote of confidence didn’t necessarily mean everyone else believed in her. Those still doubting her abilities fell silent, unwilling to be the first to step forward.

Harper Thompson watched the scene unfold with a smirk, convinced Camila was about to make a fool of herself.

But Harper’s satisfaction was short-lived. In the hush that followed, a single voice rang out, clear and steady.

“I’ll go.”

Camila looked toward the source of the voice, surprised to see that it was Mr. Stephens—the very same man she and her team had encountered earlier in the day. Beside him stood a middle-aged woman, her face pale, her body frail and unsteady. She struggled for breath with every step, relying on Mr. Stephens for support.

“Now that you mention it, I remember. Wasn’t it Ms. Roberts who treated her last time? Her family specializes in cases like this.”

“But if that’s true, why didn’t she get better?”

As the conversation swirled, Camila’s brow furrowed in concentration.

Mr. Stephens watched her anxiously, unable to hide his worry. “Ms. Davis, what do you think? What’s wrong with my wife?”

Jarvis Peters also stepped closer, curiosity evident on his face. He’d heard about this case—rumor had it that Lavinia Roberts had already cured Mrs. Smith six months ago. Apparently, that wasn’t the full story.

He asked, “Camila, did you notice something?”

Camila shook her head. “It’s too soon to say. I need to run a few more checks.”

She stood up and began to gently press her fingers along Mrs. Smith’s chest, speaking softly. “Mrs. Smith, let me know exactly what you feel as I do this.”
