Dennis seemed to read her mind. “No one will come,” he murmured against her ear, his voice impossibly hoarse. His breath came in ragged gasps, and the cool depths of his eyes were now burning with two intense, searing flames.
One look was all it took for Camila to feel like she was being incinerated. As the wave of heat crashed over her, her last shred of reason was swept away by the tide. As they moved together, she experienced what it truly meant to be consumed by a fiery, soul-deep passion. She felt as if her very spirit was melting, floating in a blissful void. The next moment, she was a tiny boat tossed on a stormy sea. Overwhelmed by the dizzying sensations, she could only cling to him, her hands gripping him tightly as she called out his name again and again.
“Dennis… Dennis…”
Her breathless moans were music to his ears. He felt his self-control beginning to fray. With every ounce of his willpower, he gentled his movements, murmuring words of comfort, kissing her with a desperate tenderness as he laced his fingers through hers.
Unlike the darkness of the bedroom the night before, here in the brightly lit room, they could see every flicker of emotion on each other’s faces.
By the time it was over, more than an hour had passed. Camila was so exhausted she couldn’t move a finger, her mind still drifting in a hazy bliss. The sated man beside her tenderly scooped her into his arms, carrying the woman who felt as if she had died and been reborn back to the bedroom to clean up. Camila was limp and pliant, letting him carry her without protest.
She had thought that after a bath, she would finally be able to rest. She was wrong. He had tricked her again.
“You said it wouldn’t be for long!” she protested weakly, trying to stop him. But her body, soft and pliant, had no strength to push him away. She could only surrender as he continued to have his way with her.
Dennis pressed a firm, possessive kiss to her pale shoulder, leaving a clear mark. “Compared to last night,” he said, his voice a low, sexy growl, “it won’t be.”
Camila tried to argue, but her words were swallowed by another deep kiss. In the end, he took her twice more.
When their night of passion finally ended, Camila’s last ounce of energy had been depleted. She was drifting in and out of sleep, barely able to keep her eyes open as Dennis carried her to the bathroom, washed her, dried her, and carried her back to bed. Just before she drifted off, she managed a final, resentful mumble. “Dennis Williams… you promised you were celibate… you liar!”
The soft murmur sounded more like a lover’s complaint than an accusation. Dennis’s face was a mask of pure, unadulterated satisfaction, his eyes full of indulgence. For once, he felt the need to defend himself. “I never said I was celibate. That was just a rumor. Don’t believe rumors, Camila.”
He watched her deliberate over her clothes, then moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. He rested his chin on her shoulder, his voice lazy. “You’re just going back to report in today, right? You don’t have to work?”
Camila pulled out an outfit. “I shouldn’t have to,” she said, thinking. “But I’ll need to get briefed on what I missed and learn about the new project. By the time I’m done, it’ll probably be evening.”
That answer seemed to satisfy him. “Good. I’ll pick you up then, and we can go back to your parents’ place for dinner.”
Camila glanced back at him. “You haven’t let me go home for three days. Aren’t you afraid my parents will beat you up?”
“Terrified,” he said, his voice慵懒 but his words sincere. “But I’ll take the beating. I did kidnap their daughter for three days, after all. I have to go and apologize.”
She couldn’t help but shoot him an exasperated look. “Being gone for one night, I could explain away as being hungover from the party. But now, even if I can hide these marks, my parents will know exactly what we’ve been up to for the past three days!”
