A playful smile touched Dennis’s lips. His eyes, usually cool and unreadable, now shimmered with a profound affection that was impossible to look away from.
Camila knew exactly what he was implying. A blush crept up her neck, but despite her shyness, she had no intention of refusing. She loved this man, deeply and completely. All she wanted was to make him happy.
That single thought spurred her on, making her bolder. She pressed her soft body against his, her slender, pale fingers fumbling with the buttons of his shirt.
Dennis hadn't expected her to actually go through with it. Not long ago, she had been admonishing him for his forwardness, yet here she was, so willing. The smile in his eyes deepened. No one would turn away such a delicious offering.
As the last button came undone, his gaze darkened with desire. His calloused hand wrapped around her waist, a perfect, slender fit. Her skin was as smooth and flawless as fine porcelain, an irresistible touch.
Their breaths mingled as they fell into a passionate kiss, their senses blurring.
Camila could feel the heat spreading from her face through her entire body. Her hands fumbled at his waist, somehow managing to unbuckle his belt. Dennis’s lean torso tensed, the lines of his abs and hips radiating a raw power.
He didn't carry her to the bed. He didn't even lay her down on the sofa. Bathed in the bright light of the room, he held her standing, her body positioned slightly above his. His rhythm shifted from fierce to tender, their heavy breaths filling the room.
That same night, at the hospital, the Smith family found no rest. Barbara’s injury, though not life-threatening, was severe. The doctor had informed her, “The cut is quite deep. Even after it heals, it will likely leave a scar. To make it disappear completely, you’ll probably need a few cosmetic procedures.”
The news was devastating. Barbara fainted on the spot. But the persistent, throbbing pain in her lip woke her not long after. She spent the rest of the night in agony, her face twisted in a grimace, her emotions spiraling out of control.
“I’m going to sue them! It was their doing! Mason, Jordan, you can’t let them get away with this! And that bitch Camila Davis, how dare she let those people attack me! Just wait until we get back to Harrisburg, I’ll teach her a lesson she’ll never forget!” she shrieked hysterically in the private room, her voice strained and odd due to her injured mouth.
