The guests in the room started exchanging looks, some even smirking with thinly veiled mockery.
Sandra Taylor, ever the innocent damsel, didn’t miss a beat. “Camila, please, let’s not do this. The Platinum Card—well, not just anyone can have one, you know? You’re making a scene. You’ll embarrass Jordan.”
Jordan Smith chimed in, his voice sharp. “Camila Davis, enough of this nonsense! Go home. Now.”
Camila let out a cold, dismissive laugh.
The way they played off each other was honestly nauseating.
The security guard looked uncomfortable. “Ms. Davis, I—what should I do here…”
Camila waved him off. “Don’t worry, I won’t put you in a tough spot. Although,” she shot Sandra a look, “she was right about one thing. The Harris Family’s Platinum Card isn’t for just anyone. But as luck would have it… I actually have one.”
With that, Camila reached into her designer clutch and pulled out a sleek, shining card.
Walter Wilson’s assistant had delivered it to her earlier, along with some documents.
The guard hurried over to inspect it.
After a moment, his expression shifted to one of respect and apology. “This is absolutely the Harris Family’s Platinum Card. I’m so sorry, Ms. Davis. Please forgive the misunderstanding.”
“What? That’s impossible!”
The entire room was stunned.
But no one looked more rattled than Jordan Smith, his brother Lucas, and, of course, Sandra Taylor.
Sandra’s jaw dropped. “There’s no way… Camila Davis, how could you possibly have that card?”
“I knew Mrs. Smith didn’t seem like the type! No one listened to me, though.”
“Honestly, Lucas accusing Camila like that while Jordan just stood there—what a pair.”
“But seriously, how did she get the Platinum Card? From their reactions, neither of the Smith brothers has a clue…”
Just then, a calm voice spoke from the entrance. “That card? I gave it to her. Any objections?”
All heads turned as Walter Wilson strode in, wearing a perfectly tailored tux that made him look every bit as powerful and imposing as his reputation suggested. His handsome face was set in a look of clear annoyance.
He walked straight over to Camila, his presence commanding the room. “I just got here and already heard someone tried to throw out my business partner. Imagine my surprise—it was you, Mr. Smith. And you, Lucas! I have to say, you’ve really outdone yourselves this time.”
