“Besides, when you’re doing something you love, no amount of effort feels like too much. And that feeling of accomplishment when you succeed—nothing can compare to it!”
Dennis gently squeezed her cheek, a helpless smile on his face. “I knew you’d say that. Seeing you so absorbed in your work, at least I don’t have to worry about you being lonely while I’m away.”
Camila laughed, hooking her arm through his and resting her head on his shoulder. “I wouldn’t say that. When I get home from work, I still miss you. And I think about you in my free time.”
Just like the past few days while he was on his business trip. Even though she had work to keep her busy, coming home at night to an empty apartment made her feel like a part of her was missing.
Dennis loved hearing her say that, and his mood brightened instantly. The atmosphere of their reunion had been spoiled earlier, but now, with their longing for each other out in the open, the warmth between them returned.
Dennis pressed a button to raise the partition between the front and back seats. He lifted Camila’s chin and drew her into a deep, lingering kiss.
The temperature inside the car rose. As passion flared, the air grew thick with unspoken desire. A single glance, a simple touch, seemed enough to ignite a firestorm.
But in the end, they managed to restrain themselves.
Because… they had arrived home.
Lillian, Melissa George, and Jerry Davis were already waiting by the door.
Camila and Dennis took a moment to compose themselves in the car before getting out.
“Daddy! Mommy!”
The little girl spotted them and immediately ran over, hugging Dennis’s leg. “Daddy, I missed you!” she cooed in her sweet, childish voice.
