Sarah scoffed. "Subtle? Please. He doesn't even see me as a sister. He just enjoys making me miserable." After venting about her brother, Sarah got back to business. "By the way, what's the plan for the deals you brought in at the Adams Group?" As a businessman himself, Larry understood her concern and answered directly. "You don't need to worry about that. I was careful when I was at the Adams Group. I had a clause put into the contracts stating that if either party causes a project delay, it's considered a breach of contract, and the Adams Group would be liable for compensation. With their reputation shot, even if the projects are delayed, the responsibility falls squarely on them." Sarah quickly put the pieces together. From the very beginning, when Larry returned to Cabinda, he was planning for what happened yesterday. It made sense that he would take precautions while working at the Adams Group and have an ace up his sleeve. "Wow! That's brilliant. So you were thinking about this possibility all that time ago!" Larry smiled back. "When you offered to partner with me, I knew you were helping me out. We're too good of friends for me to let you get burned, right?" Sarah felt instantly relieved and didn't ask any more questions on the matter. Lunchtime arrived quickly, and she took Larry out to eat. Throughout the morning, several people had seen Larry with her, and he had spent the entire time in her office. Now, seeing them leave the Smith Group together, the rumor mill started churning. "So Larry Adams is our Ms. Brown's boyfriend!" It's unclear who started the rumor, but it spread like wildfire throughout the Smith Group. Naturally, it didn't take long to reach Billy Brown. He immediately called Aurora Robinson to get the details. But Aurora wasn't about to sell Sarah out. "If you want to know, why don't you come back and see for yourself?" she said coolly. "I'm not your personal spy. Stop asking me about everything." With that, she hung up. Billy listened to the dial tone, feeling helpless. He'd clearly annoyed her. It looked like he really would have to make a trip back. Meanwhile, Sarah was oblivious to the rumors. After lunch, she accompanied Larry to the hospital for a dressing change. Unexpectedly, they ran into the Smith family and overheard that old woman, Barbara Jones, railing against Camila Davis. "It's all that bitch Camila Davis's fault! If she hadn't refused to treat Jordan, he wouldn't be suffering so much! I don't care—if anything happens to Jordan, I'll never let her get away with it!" Her voice was gratingly loud. Mason Smith, already on edge, looked even more irritated and snapped, "That's enough! Do you want to make an even bigger scene? Their relationship is already at a breaking point. Your constant pressure will only make Camila resent us more. Instead of this, try a softer approach. Camila has a soft heart; if you talk to her nicely, she might agree to treat Jordan. Stop causing trouble. In the end, you're partly to blame for how things ended up between them. If you keep this up, your son's leg will never heal!"
