Their argument was so loud it drew stares from passersby. Of course, Jordan Smith heard it too. He suppressed his anger and had Nathan Gates call them back into the room. "Isn't this embarrassing enough?" Jordan said, his face cold. "This is a hospital. Do you have to shout so loudly that everyone can hear you?" He then warned Barbara Jones, "Don't say I didn't warn you: do not go looking for trouble with Camila again!" His gaze was icy and intimidating. It was the first time Barbara Jones had ever seen her son look at her that way, and it unsettled her. Though she was annoyed by what both her husband and son had said, she didn't dare defy Jordan's wishes now. Mason Smith recognized Jordan's defensiveness of Camila, and it left a sour taste in his mouth. He decided to change the subject. "Jordan, you've been in the hospital for a while and haven't been able to see your daughter. Why don't we bring Lillian over? It would be good for you to spend time with her and build your father-daughter relationship." During his recovery, Jordan had grown more sullen and listless. Mason, who had always had high hopes for his son, couldn't bear to see him so down. Jordan didn't refuse the suggestion. From a distance, Sarah Brown had witnessed the whole scene. She quietly turned and left, immediately calling Camila Davis to fill her in. "I don't think any of them are up to any good, but he has visitation rights, so you can't stop him from seeing her. Just be careful. That Barbara Jones will definitely try to cause trouble for you again!" Camila didn't reply right away; she only saw Sarah's message after work. But before she could respond, she received a text from Jordan Smith himself: "I'd like to see Lillian this weekend." Camila frowned. After she had made things crystal clear in the parking garage, she thought he would have given up. She couldn't believe he was still trying. But, as Sarah had said, he had visitation rights, so she couldn't refuse. She replied with a single, cold word: "Address." Jordan replied almost instantly, sending her the address of an art gallery. Camila looked at the address and felt a bitter sense of irony. It reminded her of the time he had taken Sandra Taylor and her son to a gallery. He had known Lillian wanted a particular painting first, but he had ignored his own daughter's feelings and forced her to give it up. Did he want to take Lillian to a gallery now to make up for it? It was too late for that. Camila realized he would probably never understand that some things, if not done at the right time, become meaningless. Knowing how stubborn he was, she didn't bother arguing and simply put her phone away, leaving the research institute. When she got home, her mother and Susan had already prepared a delicious dinner. "Go wash your hands and come eat," they greeted her. After sitting down, Camila told her parents about Jordan's plan to see Lillian on the weekend. Hearing that Jordan wanted to see the child again, her parents frowned, clearly displeased. "He never saw her this often when they were married. I wonder what he's scheming." Despite their words, they had a pretty good idea of what the Smith family was up to. After dinner, Melissa George pulled Camila aside. "I heard that Jordan's condition has been getting worse while he's been in the hospital. The doctors he's found haven't been much help. I'm afraid they're still hoping you'll intervene."
