Chapter 101
Alfreds POV
After dinner, we got into a brief argument. She walked into the bedroom and slammed the door. I was going to go after her, but I heard her lock the door. i know she was upset. I decided it was best to leave her alone. I decided to go for a run. I walked out of the house. The guards were outside, and they bowed their heads to me.
What are you looking at?”
Nothing Alpha.”
Watch the house.”
Crossing to the track, I began to run. By my fourth lap, Stacey appeared and came up alongside me, matching my pace.
“What’s wrong?”
Vanessa and I got into a discussion about the plans to find Tyler.
What was said?”
I explained to her how I yelled at her for wanting to help in the battle against the witches. I explained to her that I did not want her to get hurt. I did not want her to lose the baby. Stacey smiled and stopped me from running.
* I will go check on her.”
I finished running. I then slowly walked back to the house. The guards were still there. They all bowed their heads and greeted me. I nodded my head in acknowledgment. They all seemed to have a knowing smile on their faces. They all had mates. So they probably knew what it was like to have arguments with their mates. I walked into the house, and Vanessa was still in the bedroom. Stacey was sitting in the living room. She stood up and walked over to me.
‘Do you feel better, big brother?”
‘Yes, I do.”
You know she just wants to help.”
“Talk to her and let her know how you are feeling.”
‘I will.’
Just as I completed my conversation with Stacey, Vanessa came out of the bedroom. I walked Stacey to the door and hugged her. I then walked back to Vanessa and apologized. She said that I was already forgiven for my stubbornness and for being an ass. We then went to the bedroom. Her nightgown was getting tighter around her stomach. She was starting to show. She looked so sexy. In what she was weating. She was glowing from being pregnant. I could not keep my hands off her. I picked her up and carried her to bed. I then made love to her. It was slow and romantic. We then fell asleep. When I woke up again, she was still sleeping. I could hear Mac in the kitchen making breakfast. Whatever he was cooking smelled delicious. I went into the kitchen to get some coffee.
I thought about making Vanessa a cup of coffee. However, I decided to wait for Vanessa to wake up. I did not want her to get sick from the smell. I did not know how morning sickness works, but I knew that it could not be pleasant. I will ask my mother if there is anything she can take other than the medicine the doctor prescribed her. I know the vitamins she needs, but I worry about her taking so much medication. I was sitting at the bar drinking my coffee when Vanessa came out of the bedroom. She was wearing a pair of yellow stretchy pants and a long sleeved yellow shirt. She looked beautiful.
She looked tired, as if she had not been sleeping well. However, she did not have any nightmares last night. I wonder what is wrong. Could she not get comfortable? I know her body is going through changes. She was in pain and would not tell me. I will figure it out in a minute.
Chapter 101
Hey, beautiful.”
She blushed, then walked over to me and kissed me. She smelled so good, I pulled her closer and kissed her again. Mac then puts breakfast on the table. If was fruit, eggs, and cinnamon rolls. It all looked delicious. She walked over to the table and sat down. I made her a plate with a little of everything on it. She ate like she had not eaten in a week. The baby was taking a lot out of her. That is concerning. I knew her appetite would increase, but she was already eating a lot, and the way she acted, it seemed like she never got enough to eat. I poured her a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. I then gave her her medication. She took it and then started eating. She was enjoying her food when there was a knock on the door.
I excused myself and went to answer the door. To my surprise, it was Chris.
Good morning, Alpha and Luna.”
Sorry to intrude, but I have urgent news about Tyler.”
That was interesting. It must be important if he is willing to interrupt breakfast. I walked back into the dining room.
* Forgive me, beautiful, but I need to talk to Chris.”
I kissed her and led Chris to my office. I pointed to a chair and he sat down. He then explained to me that Tyler was no longer in the witches’ forest but in the human world, casting spells on people.
Gather some trained warriors and go to the human village. ”
Yes, Alpha.”
Trained warriors knew how to deal with witches. I have warriors that are specialty trained to deal with witches. They were warded against spells and curses. My father taught us how to protect ourselves against it. Chris left, and I sat in my chair behind my desk. Tyler was making moves and getting ready to start a war. I needed to prepare my warriors and everyone for it. I picked up my cell phone and called my father.
Hey, ole man.’
* Tyler is getting ready for war.”
My father hung up the phone without saying anything. He did not have to. He was going to be here in the next day or two. I called Mandy on her cell phone.
Sorry for calling so late, but I need you to prepare the guest house for the king and queen.”
‘Yes, alpha.
Now that all that was taken care of, I can go back to Vanessa. She was on the couch reading a book. I stood at my office door and watched her. The firelight from the fireplace was making her glow even more than she already did. Sher looked absolutely stunning, I walked over to her and stood behind the couch. I gently place my hands on her shoulders and start to rub them. She purred in response. She was really enjoying what I was doing. I bet her body was sore from everything she had been through, as well as from growing a baby. She gently pulled my hands down and wrapped them around her chest. She was always happy with simple things.
‘Baby, let’s go into the room and I’ll rub your back.”
That sounds amazing.”
I plan on giving her a back massage,
