The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Alfreds POV

When we woke up this morning, I was buzzing with excitement. Today is the day that, after our mating ceremony, Vanessa will officially be the Luna of the pack. She had gotten up and was taking a shower. I then joined her. She looked so sexy standing in the shower that I could not help myself. I needed to feel her body next to mine. I had her bent over in the shower. I was going to enter her from behind. She tensed up, and then I remembered that in this position she had been raped. I was foolish not to allow her time to get accustomed to this position.

After telling her where I intended to enter her, she relaxed and enjoyed herself. After we made love, I washed her. She always seemed to purr like a kitten when I did. I loved hearing her sigh in contentment. After that, we got 9out and got dressed. She was meticulous about what she picked out to wear. I teased her a little bit about packing a bag. I already knew what she was doing. She had told me that after the mating ceremony, she did not want to ruin her dress by dancing, so she packed another dress. I had to appreciate it. She was like my mother in that aspect. My mother told my father the same thing at their mating ceremony.

We then went to breakfast in the dining hall. I had a few business matters to attend to before the ceremony tonight. I needed to check on the gun factory rebuild and the clubs to see if there were any issues. Additionally, I had to ensure everything was for our ceremony. I wanted it to be perfect with no interruptions and no intrusions. Where I had decided to have it was in the garden. She seemed to enjoy the garden. There was plenty of room for the run. I was going to do it differently. Instead of her carrying me on her back, I will have her on mine. Then she will shift and run alongside me.

While eating, my mother came in and explained her plans to us. I didn’t like the look on Vanessa’s face. She was unhappy that my parents would be apart while we were away. But my mother had been away from my father multiple times. She was used to it, but Vanessa was not happy about it. I told her it could be someone else, and she seemed delighted. We finished eating.

Little one, I have a few things to do before our ceremony, but I want you to take it easy and pamper yourself.

I then led her to a building off the main house. Around the house, I have several buildings

that I use for different functions. The building I was leading her to was a spa. Almost all the women in the pack used it. But today I had only her and Stacey there. Stacey and I talked about her being my bodyguard when I couldn’t be present. She was more than happy to take on the responsibility. She got all the perks that came with it. Stacey was already inside waiting for Vanessa. I had a white silk bathrobe sent over for her, along

with white slippers.

I hope you ladies enjoy it.

Alfred, what is this?

You are going to get pampered today.

I did not give her time to respond. I kissed her, then left. I knew she would try to say that this was all too much. But judging from the expression on her face, she was speechless and amazed at the same time. I took that as an opportunity to leave. I left the girls to do their thing. I then went and got the car and drove to the gun factory. The rebuild was going nicely. The frame of the building was in place, and things were looking good. I then went to the club. When I walked in, there were rogues in the club. I growled, and it shook the building. On all days, I have to deal with these people.

They looked at me and left of their own accord. The club owner came out and was astonished to see me in the club. I usually send someone else. But today I wanted to come myself. I was leaving tonight and wanted to ensure there were no problems.

DJ, I need a word with you.

Yes, alpha.

He was already shaking. I knew that he was afraid of me. I took him into his office. I mindlinked TJ to get over there. He said he would be there shortly. I then grabbed Dj by the throat and had him against the wall. He was begging for his life.

What were rogues doing here?

I was going to call you.

That I doubted, mainly because they came out of his office acting like old friends. They were acting like they had just completed a transaction of sorts. Rogues were not allowed in the club without permission. My permission, that is. I hated having rogues in my

territory. But they were a necessary part of our world. Wolves that were either banished or left of their own accord needed somewhere to go. Not all rogues were kicked out of their packs. Some chose to leave. I would never understand why some chose to leave. But they did.

finished my business at the club and returned home. I checked that all the arrangements were made for the mating ceremony. Everything was set. Also, our bags had been put in the car we would take to the cabin. We will be gone for a week. Then we would be back. Now it was time to get ready for the ceremony. I knew that the girls were getting ready. My father was going to give her away. Since her own father would not be doing it, even if he were still alive, I would not allow him anywhere near her. Let alone touch her.

I walked into our room, and Stacey was there.

Alfred, you can not be in here.

I had forgotten about the silly superstition that I should not see her in her dress before the ceremony, but I wanted to see her in it. Stacey ushered me out of the room. I will go along with it for now.

Fine, I will leave.

I then left the room, grabbing my suit that I would wear tonight. Stacey giggled at my pouting. She knew that I just wanted my mate. I stormed out of the bedroom, went into the guest room, got dressed, and went to the garden. Everyone was there and waiting for her to appear. I kept pacing back and forth.

What the hell is taking so long?

My mother chuckled.

Son, settle down, she will be here soon.

She was right, but I was being impatient.
